Love this book store but FYI their Google business hours are not accurate. They close at 7 on Thursdays. I planned my day around coming here and was disappointed to see they were closed.
Great choices, elegant and refined shop, cool editions for gifts and special occasions. Really friendly staff who were fun to talk to, and great prices. There’s also other literary themed gear, meaningful t-shirts, amazing cards, cool puzzles, smart toys, figures. We’ve had fun every time we go in!
This place used to be great. Now they have a sign in the window complaining about the federal government. I spent three hundred dollars on books here today and asked to buy a bag. After paying, I reached to grab one of the paper bags that were stacked right beside the register. When I did, the gen z purity policewoman behind the counter snapped at me, "don't reach behind the cash register!" Yeah man, I don't think the federal government is the problem. Your service staff sucks and I couldn't even get an itemized receipt. Also, before I even said hello to the staff, they were loudly complaining about how intolerable the owner is when he's attempting to quit smoking. How nice...
Love strolling into this great bookstore! Owner is super friendly and always has treats available for my pup. Also a plus that they’re open later than most shops.
This bookstore has a very interesting selection of books, the politics section is awesome, with subcategories from global politics to indigenous politics to city and environmental politics. (There's even a section on sex work politics). Going there always allows me to discover new books to add on my to read list. One of the best bookstores in the city for sure!
Ordered online and picked up in store a. One of the books could not be located and they offered to order it in and I received a note exactly in time. Great customer service and it is a pleasure to have a local book shop with personal touch and a modern convenience of online ordering.
Don't bother selling anything here. After waiting 10 days and not hearing back I called in to find out that they have lost half my books and the other half have already been processed, priced, and are on the shelf: please enjoy $4 in store credit... Seriously? I got 50 cents per book they didn't lose. I could have gotten twice the value, in cash, from pretty much any other bookstore, and at that price I would have just donated them to charity. An incredibly dissappointing experience and I would absolutely never do it again or recommend to anyone To the person who responded to my review: I'm sorry your staff have mislead you, they are in CYA mode. They absolutely lost books. They told me they only give credit and I responded that "Oh, that's cool, I asked about it last time I was here, happy with credit." If I had already sold to you in the past they would not have had to open an account for me that day.
