Staff are very friendly, and there's always something interesting to buy, or look at. Walking into the Scribe feels like discovery a treasure. I love coming here!

Neighborhood gem. The team here do great work curating an eclectic collection of books, art and curios. For a fun and or weird time, I recommend looking through the occult/paranormal collection and just grabbing whatever catches your attention first.

Charming bookstore with a great mix of unique finds and classic titles, all in excellent condition. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the rare book collection was fascinating. Definitely a spot to check out if you’re in the Danforth area, you never know what treasures you might discover!

Made sure me and my son had an awesome time even though it was a big sale day - shoulder to shoulder crowded, with a line out the door! We love the books he chose!

What a magical bookstore! Been in here a few times but the 1st time I really did feel like a stumbled into a magic place. Great selection of antique books. Everything well organized, displayed & you can see the care put into the store. Be sure to go to the back to see the rare pieces!

Wonderful store with knowledgeable staff. They really care about helping you find your next treasure. Nice range of books and prices, which you won't always find in rare bookshops! Atmosphere is calming and encourages browsing. A gem!

Good wares, but bad attitude. I bought an old book there yesterday: when I asked the clerk to erase the price, she creased the page distinctly in two places, but she neglected to tell me about the new damage. When I got home and discovered the creases, I emailed and then visited the store. Rather than just saying "Sorry, we'll give you a credit toward your next purchase", the store provided several excuses, denied the problem, and then "banned" me from the store - very theatrically, I should add. Again, the store's wares seem reasonable, and the staff are knowledgeable. But the staff can also be condescending and inflexible. Not recommended.

The book was not damaged at all. Your demand was both rude and unrealistic, especially after how much care and time we personally put into helping you find a book you would cherish. Creating complaints when you visit establishments is an obvious trend based on your other reviews. We do not tolerate behaviour like that.
