To be honest I don't think I agree with the reviews here. This restaurant is ran by a husband and wife - the wife was very kind and welcoming but the husband has his lounge set up in the dining area and it felt like they were not ready or expecting to serve guests on a Friday night. I also felt like we interrupted his TV time, you could see his personal clutter on the table. The sushi came out so fast, something didn't sit right.. I should have stuck to one type of fish like salmon but instead I got assorted - I couldn't even finish some of the pieces because the colour was just off, the sushi rice just masked it more. I ended up getting food poisoning shortly after. For a resto at a prime location, it doesn't make sense - sushi needs to be handled with extra care. Very affordable but I would rather spend more money and go somewhere with fresh fish. Please take this as advice
Wow! I had never come across this little hidden gem. The sushi was exceptional - extremely fresh and tasty- despite the price point which is very reasonable. The place is small but charming and the owners and chef are just lovely. This is now going to be my go to sushi place going forward!!
The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The space is small but gives cozy vibes. The food came out quick and it was delicious. The price is quite reasonable, will definitely be coming back. ??
Unfortunately, the chicken teriyaki was terrible - dry as leather, with gelatinous chunks of rice. There was some mixup at the counter regarding the amount of edamame they had on hand vs what we ordered and they refunded my husband promptly, so I'm happy with their service, but I'm not sure why a Japanese restaurant wouldn't have two servings of edamame available at lunchtime. There was no shoyu nor utensils provided. This just wasn't the food experience I was looking for.
I got hooked on Korean archery thanks to the lovely couple that had this on the TV while my sushi/sashimi combo was being prepared. They’re very sweet and this place is a solid affordable alternative to the places around the corner on Queen. It’s at Bathurst and Robinson, a block north of Queen. Check it out. Cute little spot. ?
They send us rotten sushi. I was surprised after I placed the order and they had the order ready in 5 min. They send us old sushi, inedible and even dangerous. Never buy from this places, you can get poison
As a tuna lover who ordered the Tuna lover roll. Absolutely fantastic. I could not agree more with other comments. I have to confirm it once again “A truly hidden gem”
