I ordered a vegetarian rice bowl and was told they were out of the very popular fried eggplant curry. The young man at the counter asked if I wanted other alternatives like soya protein, so I assumed it was a substitute. I wasn’t told it cost extra, but I was charged for it. It felt a bit like a cash grab. Portions are small and the food was a bit bland, but tasted good. Luckily I didn’t have the issues others mentioned.

Excellent food that instantly reminded me of the streets of Jaffna. The blend of herbs and spices was spot on, with the spice level perfectly balanced. The combo option with the mutton roll and masala tea was a winning combination — absolutely amazing. Honestly, this place deserves to be out on its own rather than tucked inside a food court. The owner and his partner were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back!

DELICIOUS flavour, and a beautiful assortment of toppings/ complimentary add ons. Just please do not ASSUME that because I have pale skin I'd want the white rice (and not even ask if I would prefer yellow or white rice.) Than repeatedly assume I can't handle spicy... I'm a little bit offended. Trust your customers know their limits and give them fair options! I insisted I love spice and what I got is still barely spicy to me...

Service was amazing, they’re such kind people and the food was delicious! The Jaffna fries were impressive, and a great deal when they’re the daily special. Masala tea and mutton rolls were also delicious and hearty. Love them

Ordered Mutton Rolls and was told that it was going to take 10 minutes as they were still in the fryer. After 10 mins, I was given my rolls and told that they were very hot and to wait a before eating them. I decided to eat one right away and found the center of the roll to be literally ice cold. It was clear that they were not fried long enough. The employee told me it was because they were frozen and that if I wait a bit, it will thaw out.

A new update- still love this place so much! Went there today and Lakshman gave me the nicest service! But all the staff is super nice! Reminds me of home whenever I go! Loved the chicken rolls! Definitely coming back whenever I miss home. As a Sri Lankan myself, this place felt like a little taste of home. For the cherry on top, the staff were incredibly sweet as well.

(Updated on Aug 2025) I returned to Jaffna to take advantage of their Monday mutton kotu roti($10). Very generous portion and enjoyed it very much. Really enjoyed all the food I tried. 1. Appam with spicy coconut sambal & sweet onion sambal. Fermented coconut & rice appam so delicious with two different sambal. $5 for two is a great value for breakfast. 2. Mutton roll($3) Fish cutlet($2.50). Great snack! Don’t think you should compare the price with the bakeries in Scarborough. Was just happy that we could get these snacks in downtown Toronto. Liked chunk of mutton in the roll. Nice spice in the fish cake. 3. Mutton Kari rice bowls($12) Lots of veggies & salad sambal to top up rice bowl. Mutton Kari was tasty. Parrippu( Lentil curry) was free to add and gave extra protein source & it was delish!!
