Absolute scammer. Had a check engine light come on. Dropped the vehicle at Ah Wai for inspection. Firstly, they charged to replace all spark plugs which was completely uneccessary. Returned the vehicle to me and the check engine light was still flashing. Then said the engine needed to be rebuilt. Took an $800 deposit to work on it. The parts he bought didn’t work and he was unable to get it working. Then said the rebuild would cost $5,000 for a car that was maybe worth $6,000. He was unable to get the car working again and refused to release the vehicle into my possession. He then stole the front plate (to this day it was never returned) and refused to release the vehicle unless we paid $200. Refused to refund the $800 deposit. Eventually had to tow the vehicle to another trusted mechanic only to find out all the vehicle needed was a new battery and starter / turbo only caused by holding my vehicle for so long at his shop. Never use this mechanic. He is a scam artist.
I came here to get a transmission issue fixed as it would lock up sometimes and they did NOT fix it with a part but used washers and sorts to bandaid the actual issue along with a car diagnosis which they said I needed a new battery (which I declined) as I had it warranted and so they tried telling me it’s $300 to put some washers in and a diagnosis, I said that’s ridiculous and the guy took off $20 lol and they left dirty finger prints all over my car. Not professional by any measure…
Last year I called in, asking how much it costs to put a tire on a rim and then on the car. The female receptionist quoted $80 which seemed reasonable. I brought in my vehicle and they changed it. The south asian mechanic asked for $200. When I told him what I was told on the phone, he said I was wrong. I remember feeling shafted in the experience but at the time I didn't use google reviews. Well, heres your review now.
Ok, let me save anyone time. Avoid this place at all cost. I went there to get a safety for a new insurance company. They told me I needed new brake pads, new front shocks and new front struts. One problem. Under thier old ownership two years ago, I recieved new front shocks and brake pads. (I hardly use my car). I decided to try another shop. Surprise, nothing was wrong with my car. In fact, thier owner said please come by if you ever want to sell it.
