Please be careful the owner says he will do service over the phone for transmission oil. And oil filters and charges you but doesn't do one of them saying it in the transmission but when you call him he says he will. He also claims to keep the filter but doesn't show you when you ask him.not only that he won't let you see the work ask you to go to tim hortins and say he will call you when the vehicle is ready and pick you up. Guess what we walked over to the shop and the vehicle was just sitting there . Please be aware of this. Before getting the service get everything In writing and see that he does it . And wait dont fall into his lies of going to tim and he will pick you up . Please be very careful when going here and getting the service and quotes.
Toronto Automatic Transmission rebuilt the transmission on my BMW E38 740i and did a fantastic job. They also helped diagnose and fix a torque converter balance issue after the fact. They are experts and great to work with.
Got a quote here for transmission repair. They checked out my car for free. They suggested I could drive my car around for several more months before I needed the repair and I could simply come in when my car was worse and the repair cost would be the same. Appreciate the honest advice.
I called TAT late on a Thursday afternoon after being informed by 2 other transmission shops that based on a check engine light scan code that my cars transmission required a complete rebuild at a cost of $3200 - $4200+ tax...no questions about obvious symptoms while driving and no test drive. I asked for an appointment for the following day and Alex told me no appointment was necessary, just come on down the following day and he would look at it. When I arrived Alex scanned it and reported that he saw no issues as a result of the scan. He then asked to take it for a test drive. Five minutes later he was back and said he found no evidence of transmission problems while driving and scanning. He then handed me the key fob, shook my hand and told me to have a nice day. If the check engine light comes on again, come back and I will look into it further he said. Truly exceptional customer service with a smile. The check engine light remains out after 2 days and 200 kms. If I have transmission problems in the future, I know where I will go. Thanks Alex.

BEWARE! New owner doesn’t know Mercedes like the old guy who retired. This place used to be great, Now they have a difficult time fixing a leak they caused by doing a transmission service. I had to bring my car back 3 separate times where they gave me a baloney story every single time that they fixed it. Sure enough i’d get home and move it the next day to find its dripping transmission fluid again. Since I was very frustrated as this had been going on for 2 months, I decided to take it to another trusted mechanic. His findings were a sloppy job trying to clean the old caked on seal on the mating surface on the bottom of the transmission, paired with an aftermarket transmission pan was a recipe for disaster. Very upsetting since Toronto Automatic rebuilt my transmission 6 years ago, but I will no longer be returning after that display of incompetence. Update: Embarrassing response from the child like owner, shame on you my father passed away last month how dare you make a comparison like that.
I had insurance from Peoples Choice warranty, they sent me to this mechanic which was supposed to check the noise if coming from transmission,insurance supposedly cover this. Instead they said it’s not transmission and Changed the oil in the transmission which I didn’t not ask ( insurance paid for it) My transmission wasn’t leaking before,now is leaking.
