Possibly the most horrific service I have ever experienced. While the decor is warm and inviting, the service unfortunately has us canceling an order and leaving early. Right off the bat, we waited around 10min for a host to approach us and get us seated. I eventually had to chase a waiter down to request to be seated. We’re left without water for a while, and the drinks eventually arrive with no napkins. One of the drinks is missing its garnish, and the servers are zooming past us not caring to refill our water bottle. We eventually place an order for fries. 30min later, the fries haven’t arrived and we request the bill to put an end to the fiasco. To our (lack of) surprise, the fries are on the bill. You really can’t do worse than this (at this price point) even if you tried.
We visited Evangeline Sat Dec 13 expecting a festive experience, but unfortunately it fell short. We ordered a charcuterie board and had nearly finished our drinks before following up with our server. Only then were we told that the kitchen was “very backed up.” Given how simple the order was, this explanation felt difficult to understand — especially after seeing what was eventually served. When the board arrived, it was extremely underwhelming: about 9–10 thin slices of meat that appeared pre-packaged and simply placed on a plate. For a $24 charcuterie board, the quantity, presentation, and overall effort felt very basic and minimal. We shared our concerns with the server, but the response felt dismissive and uninterested, with little acknowledgement of either the delay or the value issue. The lack of transparency around the wait time, combined with the simplicity of the dish, made the explanation for the delay feel questionable. Overall, the experience did not match the price point or the holiday atmosphere being promoted. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on our visit.
We had such a wonderful time last night. The vibes were off the charts! The music was really good, they've really nailed the cool winter chalet vibes and our server Matthew really made our night with his fabulous service. Also, very grateful to the manager Christian, who was able to find us a table quickly so we could order food and drinks. We'll definitely be back!
My favourite bar downtown! Aaron and his team have created the most delicious cocktails. The service was next level - our server, Matthew was perfectly attentive and accommodating. The small bites were flavourful and fresh. The french fries and homemade aioli were our top choice. We will definitely be back!
It started with a good experience on the roof top. We got 2 drinks each and fries to share. Drinks were good, fries were nothing special and great outdoor/interior space. Also, I love the idea of the open seating concept. Although, everything went down the drain when we were charged for a drink that we didn’t get. After paying, we noticed the extra charged and notified our server. It took quite some time to get it resolved. We were told that a refund cannot be issued right away due to the accounting department being closed. So we were offered a “complimentary drink” for the mistake that they made that we technically already paid for. We weren’t content with the offer to solve the issue so we demanded that we just get a direct refund on the drink. A simple refund was out of the question and we were asked to email the manager our receipt and they would be taking care of us the next time we decided to come back. All this to say, we still left unhappy with the service. It’s the principle of the situation where we need take extra steps (emailing the manager) to get a simple refund for a mistake that wasn’t ours.
Sat at the bar, Pete was a great time and somehow outshone the view behind us (view is beautiful). Great cocktail knowledge as well! Definitely will be back
Came here for after work drinks and it turned into an all night affair! Great array of cocktails with killer city sunset on a rooftop. Our knowledgable and quite amusing server (Victoria, I think - short bubbly blonde) even went off menu with a series of personalized questions and matched specially crafted cocktails & food for us. It was a really exciting experience we can`t wait to share to with friends and family.
