If theres a standard for Toronto Cafe's, I'd say Claudia's Coffee is it. I have had better coffee from other Cafe's, often for cheaper, but I really have nothing to complain about when it comes to Claudia's - the coffee was tasty, hot, and prompt. The service window is very cute, but I worry that it makes up for a lack of pedestrian real estate within the building to accomodate people who sit and enjoy their drink - if you order inside, the cafe feels very cramped. Nevertheless, I will definitely happily return to Claudia's Coffee!
I was there this past week and the owner was serving me and they were very rude, condescending and impatient when I was deciding what to order. I have dietary restrictions and I was asking questions so please don't come here if you have any dietary restrictions.
Coffee is good, the muffins are delicious and the service is warm and friendly (even after I broke a cup of coffee and made a mess). I highly recommend it
This used to be our favourite coffee shop in the junction. The patio is beautiful (although more umbrellas would be nice). But lately the coffees have not been great. (We usually go on Saturday or Sunday morning) Not sure if there’s a new owner or just some new baristas who aren’t great. But the cappuccino looks / tastes like it came out of a machine the last 3 times we went. Today we went to Full Stop instead which was better. Hopeful Claudia’s can turn things back around soon, because we miss the European vibes on the patio / inside and what used to be their excellent coffee.
I visited this coffee place with my daughter and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. While the coffee was good (though quite overpriced), the overall atmosphere ruined our visit. The music was unbearably loud and gave both of us a headache. When I politely asked if it could be turned down or changed, the bartender rolled his eyes and responded in a very rude and dismissive manner. It’s a shame—this place has potential, but the poor service and uncomfortable environment make it hard to enjoy. Definitely not coming back.
I really like Claudia’s! I honestly just have one issue that makes me hesitant at times to return. The drinks are great as well as food they offer. It’s a nice, airy space inside as well. The one con for us personally is just one of the staff members. All the ladies that work here are so sweet and friendly, I truly appreciate that. But there’s one curly haired guy who works here (I think on the weekends mostly? Bc he’s the one I always see on a weekend but I’m not sure if he’s there during other week day hrs) and he isn’t very kind or customer service oriented. I’m not sure why, but every time we have him serving us he has this superiority attitude. & he doesn’t make the drinks as well as the other ladies who work here. It feels like he doesn’t want to be there. We know we are going to get served attitude with our drinks when he is working. Maybe he just decided he doesn’t have a liking towards us in particular, I can’t say if he’s like this with everyone. But it’s literally the only downside for me bc it just makes for a not so pleasant experience.
Was pretty surprised at how tiny the gf/vegan deserts are for the price. Of only two options (that are both gf and df) the chocolate chip cookie is micro-sized, and VERY dry... At almost $5, with that size/quality, I feel like that’s pretty steep in comparison to other spots in the area for allergy friendly treats. (Sunglasses for comparison)
