I came across HolmPei Cafe bistro purely by accident. And so happy I did because it is just wonderful. I had the French toast with pecan and pear and cream. One of the best dishes I have eaten this year. Accompanied by a hot dark chocolate with a hint of orange. Great friendly service. I will be back.
Relatively new place. Got the salmon waffle Benny, their seasonal burger and a Ube latte on the side. Everything blew us out of the waters. Hoping to try them again in the future!
HolmPei Bistro is a tiny new spot tucked right by the Eaton Centre. The space is tight and has that pared-back clean white, minimal look. But the food coming out of that kitchen is anything but basic. I grabbed the iced pistachio latte, which was almost too easy to drink. Lightly sweet, strong coffee flavour, topped with rose petals, it was one of those “slow down, you’re finishing this way too fast” moments. For food, I went with the tomato-based chili lime tagliatelle with charred tiger prawns, and wow. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and plated like something you’d expect from a proper restaurant, not a casual café. Definitely a refresh from the usual sando-plus-potatoes formula you see everywhere. Overall, HolmPei just jumped onto my favourites list for brunch. I’ll absolutely be back.
This spot is absolutely amazing! The service was super fast, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The food was incredible and the drinks were just as impressive. This place also has one of the best matcha lattes I’ve ever had! Thanks we will 100% be back
Amazing spot for brunch if you are able to get a spot (it can be quite tricky to reserve a spot due to the small space). Their menu is quite extensive with a wide range of food and drink options. I quite enjoyed their seafood angel hair spaghetti dish and the ube latte. The only downsides is their appetizers were a bit on the smaller size for the price point, so I would recommend their main dishes and drinks instead. Overall highly recommend coming here during off peak hours if you really want to visit or sign up for the waitlist early.
There’s only one waitress serving the entire restaurant so service was incredibly slow. We had to ask for water since she forgot to serve it to our table while giving it to tables seated after us. When we were finally served water, we noticed the cups were not fully cleaned with residue left behind. The kicker was we waited over 40 minutes for our food along with the tables around us. We weren’t even given all the cutlery and were missing a fork and knives. Food was similarly disappointing with my medium rare steak coming out well done and the honey gochujang udon being watery and bland. Overall, restaurant is severely understaffed and waitress lacks training.
Located near my office, I stumbled upon this charming brunch spot that's evidently a hit among young Asians, possibly thanks to its Instagram-worthy ambiance. The menu is a delightful mix of options, and I couldn't resist trying the steak brunch menu and the shrimp pasta. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender with savory sides that complemented it well. The shrimp pasta, on the other hand, impressed with its creamy texture and just the right amount of spice, adding a flavorful kick to each bite. With such a promising start, I'm eager to return and explore more dishes from their enticing menu.
