Friendly staff and a varied menu. It was difficult to get our waiter’s attention to request additional items or correct the bill, which took three attempts to split properly — but overall, it was still a good experience.
We attended the Sunday afternoon tea. The decor and environment was good. The service lacked professionalism - no tea spoon when serving English afternoon tea...? I did asked for the tea spoon, and one was provided when there were 4 of us having 4 afternoon tea orders... Then the afternoon tea scone was very cold and dry, the sweet pastries were way too sweet and their textures were awfully hard and dry. Then, the sandwiches were the only saving grace, acceptable though not exceptionally good. Overall, paying $79.00 + taxes and gratuities for each individual afternoon tea serving was way too expensive.
My two friends took me for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent, the service flawless. I was given my own tower as the birthday lady. I felt like the queen! Our waiter, Bishwarup, was the best!
A classy and scrumptious start to your day awaits at Victoria’s. I live in New York, but when I travel to Toronto, I try to stay at the Omni King if only for the breakfast. It’s not necessarily about the food, but it is also for the food. It is relatively easy to get breakfast right but not always yet Victoria’s gets it right. The entranceway to the restaurant is whimsical with large chess pieces sitting on all four corners of the large lobby area. It is is quiet and classy, replete with linen cloths to soften the sounds of coffee cups and silverware hitting the table. Your coffee is served in a small metal pot, with a curved spout, giving a sense of elegance. If you ask for Sunny-side eggs, they will arrive in a perfect circle, and without the runny yuck that others may dish. The chicken apple sausage – – they will give you three – – is filling up but not overbearing; Just the perfect amount. I love the multigrain toast, served with savory butter, which your knife easily slices into. The staff is attentive and professional, tending to all of your needs. They may give you a surprise tasting at the start — a little quarter size stack of pancake pancakes from the chef when you’re starting your meal. Delicious and spares you the calories. When you leave Victoria’s, you will be feeling upbeat with a sense of order and elegance to carry throughout your day.
The service and atmosphere here were good. The savoury food was decent, however the desserts were definitely lacking. Being a chocolate high tea, the chocolate desserts were disappointing and the scones were very dry.
It is the cafe of the Omni King Edward Hotel, it offers a lovely afternoon tea experience with a focus on classic and traditional flavors. The setting is in a well-maintained, not overly fancy or trendy, but warm, inviting, and full of timeless charm. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy the tradition of afternoon tea without distractions. We visited in Autumn 2024, there’s a seasonal tea set called Chocolate Indulgence. I love the Apple Spice Streusel Scone, and my mom enjoyed the chocolate pastries quite well. The selection of sweets and savories was well-balanced, maintaining the high-quality standards of a traditional afternoon tea.The tea set included a glass of Bottega Gold Prosecco, and there're two piece of chocolate for us to take home at the end which was very pleasant. The service was attentive and professional, and the price is quite reasonable for the quality and overall experience. While it doesn’t have the modern & photogenic appeal of some newer tea spots, it stays true to the elegance and authenticity of a traditional afternoon tea. They also have many different tea sets (regularly available) to choose from, and vegetarian friendly. If you’re looking for a refined yet affordable afternoon tea with good food, excellent service, and a classic, nostalgic ambiance, the Omni King Edward Hotel is a wonderful choice.
During our memorable stay at the Omni hotel a few months ago, the highlight was undoubtedly the delightful evening spent at the Vicotra Cafe. The combination of great company and a fantastic dinner made our experience truly special. Opting for the Salmon entree, we were treated to a culinary masterpiece that left our taste buds singing with delight until the very last bite. The dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the chef's skill in balancing flavors and textures. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident, making it a standout choice. Adding to the enjoyment of our evening was our server, who went beyond the call of duty to provide not just impeccable service but also entertainment. Their engaging and lively personality kept us laughing throughout the night, elevating the overall dining experience. In essence, our visit to the Vicotra Cafe at the Omni hotel was a symphony of culinary excellence, delightful ambiance, and exceptional service. It left an indelible mark on our stay, making it a cherished memory. We look forward to returning and relishing the impeccable hospitality that defines the Omni hotel experience.
