I’ve been a loyal customer at this Value Buds location since it opened in 2021, but the store is not the same anymore. The customer service has dropped massively. I came in with a vape pen that was clearly defective and leaking oil. I originally only wanted an exchange, but the store manager on duty, Tony Ferrias, was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He refused to help because the item “wasn’t on my account,” even though every other purchase I’ve made here for years is. The battery from the same purchase was logged and refunded, which makes it obvious this was a staff logging error, not my mistake. I left the defective pen with one of the few good employees left someone who actually treated me with respect and handled the situation properly. Sadly, it feels like the store keeps losing the good staff and replacing them with people who don’t care, and lack customer service skills, I also spoke with the area manager, Samantha Jones, and she was equally dismissive and offered no real solution. Between the poor management, the attitude, and the complete lack of accountability, I won’t be returning to this location again. Go Elsewhere….. Seems to be a trend with this company’s new management style…
I walked in just “browsing,” and walked out with the confidence of a man who suddenly knows the terpene profile of 3 different strains and owns a grinder shaped like a pineapple. The staff? Absolute legends. I asked one question and got a full TED Talk on sativa vs indica, with jokes. I didn’t even know I needed edibles until they explained how “a Tuesday can feel like a Sunday if you do it right.” Inspirational stuff. The prices? So good I briefly thought I was being pranked. Like, “am I on a hidden camera show?” level good. I checked the receipt twice just to be sure I wasn’t being gaslit by discounts. Bonus: they have the exact kind of calm, chill lighting that makes you feel like you’re making responsible life choices… even if you’re buying pre-rolls shaped like mini baseball bats.
Rude customer service for no need at all. I asked the guy a few questions about the different products and he rudely said "there's the board! You can see for yourself" then pointed at the board. Gee thanks. I went one other time just to see if it was a fluke, but nope same deal. Do yourself a favour and walk 100m east on bloor and go to Grower's retail. The prices are just as good but their customer service is always awesome. I've never had a rude or surly employee there ever!
Great selection of cannabis. Bad and rude customer service. Learn some basic mannerism and maybe put a smile on your face. The dude at the counter looks miserable
I had an awesome time purchasing essential goods at value buds yesterday. Matthew was superb. He guided me through my orders and gave me some helpful insights. Loved the service. Thank you so much for a delightful experience.
First time shopping here. Great prices, knowledgeable staff who are also friendly and attentive, did I mention great prices? Due to a neuropathic disorder, I tried a strain higher in CBG and CBD as well as the fun TCh - so far so good, love their 2g vape cartridges. I shall definitely return!
The customer service did used to be brutal, but I gave this place another chance a few weeks ago and the staff are great now. Every time I’ve gone since they have been very friendly, and helpful. There is a man with long black hair and a woman with curly light hair who I find exceptionally helpful, and should be recognized. Apologies if that is not their gender, unfortunately I don’t remember their names. Only 4 stars because they don’t carry all the brands I buy.
