Its classic old school canadian chinese . food is amazing and the value is beyond excellent . Not the cleanest or friendliest but if it was either of those Id probably leave lol this is what chinese food is supposed to be
Customer service was poor. Took a long time for someone to take my order. Even though the restaurant only had 3 customers in it who were already dinning. The food did not taste good. I ordered from the Chinese food menu, and the restaurant was not well kept. Tables dirty. It took over 45 minutes on top my wait time to place my order.
DISGUSTING FOOD!! Picked up my food at 9:30pm, order a cantonese chow mein And the bag was filled with Sauce, noodles are disgusting, full of soya sauce, and all salty. Disappointed
Ordered a seafood chow mein and was disappointed. While the portion looks big but it actually isn’t that big because normally I’m not able to finish a portion myself at other Chinese restaurants. The seafood weren’t fresh and it was mostly imitation crab and cuttlefish balls with a few shrimps and cuttlefish. The flavors didn’t hit and the temperature of the dish was on the colder side. I won’t be ordering Chinese food from here next time but I might come back for the breakfasts and just give it another try. Overall, based on what I ordered, it wasn’t good value. Not to mention it didn’t hit.
The place is not busy which initially turned me away but I found the courage to try and was very happy that I did. Second time eating here, the food is good. the prices are fair in my opinion. It's nice to have a good Chinese restaurant nearby.
Queen Star is one of the neighbourhoods hidden gems. I'm there for breakfast every weekend I get a chance. Friendly, fast, confusingly inexpensive. I always leave full, happy, and caffeinated.
I wanted to like it because it’s so close by, but unfortunately it sucked. My beef & broccoli dish was very salty. My shrimp fried rice was burnt... like, black pieces & smelled from the bag!!! The spicy shrimp was nothing to rave about. The only good thing was the plain noodles I ordered. Disappointed. Everything was leaking out the bags.
