The staff are nice and welcoming, and the vibe is good overall, but after trying it for three months, I realized it just wasn’t the right fit for me. I liked the vibe of this place and the coaches were knowledgeable, but overall it just wasn’t the right fit for me. The class schedule is pretty limited, and with a 9–5 job and commute, my only realistic options were the 6–7pm or 7–8pm classes since the last class ends at 8pm. That made it hard for me to attend consistently. The gym equipment area doesn’t have enough mirrors and is really small, which made it harder for me to check my form. While the classes didn’t feel rushed, the coaches weren’t always able to correct everyone’s movements. In my first session, I ended up with two large bruises on my back that took almost a month to heal. I was also disappointed with the required heart rate monitor. For the price, it felt low quality. The charger is outdated, the physical button is finicky and doesn’t always work properly, and the band itself isn’t great quality either. Being required to buy that specific brand didn’t sit right with me. The waitlist policy also made things more frustrating for me. The vibe and coaches are good, but overall it just wasn’t for me.
I took the Saturday morning class while visiting from North Carolina. I was greeted warmly by Renee. The transition was seamless for entry into the class. Eddy provided a great energy workout! I really appreciate how the studio make visitors from other studios feel so welcome!
This Orange Theory is the best I have ever been to. I was a member in Los Angeles and I’ve traveled to multiple locations while on business. First, this is a super convenient downtown location. Easy to get to from multiple parts of the city. You’re greeted by a confident and warm front desk staff. Sonya our coach took us through a tour of the facility and the class layout itself. It was fast, efficient, yet utterly thorough and I felt ready to take on the class. The facility is spotless and the room is set up to perfection. Meticulously organized. There is A LOT to manage in an Orange Theory class and Sonya, our coach, was an all star. No matter which side of the room you were on she was there keeping time, pushing you when you needed it and also checking in on your form. Her energy set the tone and it never wavered from being professional AND fun, which is hard to do. This will definitely be my Toronto go to. Go check it out!
This review is long overdue. The staff at OTF university is amazing along with the coaches. I can’t say enough good things about Eddie who literally was such a motivating coach and kicked my ass into shape. Renee at the front was so welcoming every single time. I moved out of downtown and now go to another OTF studio but will forever be thankful to this studio for starting my fitness journey.
OTF at University Avenue provides a fully functional, welcoming and safe space for workouts with knowledgeable, approachable and motivating coaches who celebrate every milestone and achievement, making them truly exceptional. The format of introducing new workouts every class is impressive and helps to combat boredom.
An invigorating full-body workout that leaves no muscle untouched! Each movement is perfectly curated to challenge and strengthen, building power and balance from head to toe. A true symphony of endurance and grace—highly recommend.
I was visiting Toronto, I got stuck in traffic and arrived 10 minute late. The front desk did not let me in. their location is horrible, an small sign for OT outside , and gym hidden inside. front desk manner was not what I was expecting. I visited Bloor Yonge and yonge eglinton studios and very positive experience over those two studios.
