Aisha has completely revitalized my natural hair. I am thrilled with how my hair looks and now have a manageable hair routine -amazing! It was a journey that began with education and getting comfortable with trimming to enable growth. The studio is a warm, inviting space with great vibes and energy. This review is based on the customer service I experienced I booked a month in advance. Took work off and school for my daughter and travelled all the way from Windsor. I stayed with a family member for a few days to accommodate my travels for the appointment. Two days before my appointment I got a phone call from the receptionist stating I needed to pay my deposit prior to my appointment. I thought it was strange as they were asking for the deposit 2 days prior instead of a month before at the initial booking and was not advised this was a non refundable deposit nor in the email or text does it state this. I proceeded and sent my 100$ deposit at 1pm and left a voicemail stating my deposit had been sent to secure my appointment. Later that evening I received an email and a text stating my appointment was cancelled due to conflicting schedules. Wow. The rest of that night I spent it finding another hair salon that could accomodate my daughters 3c/4a hair and succeeded by referral of a friend. The next day I called crown and glory asking for my deposit back as my appointment was cancelled. Receptionist advised me that she reached out to me for a deposit and didn’t hear back from me which was a lie. She than stated Friday was still open and could fit me back on the schedule. I declined and asked for my deposit back as I had to rearrange my schedule all over again to find somewhere else to go. She advised she will have to wait for the stylist to come in and confirm because deposits aren’t refundable. I called back the next day as I didn’t receive a call back and there was no answer. Receptionist called me back the following week and told me she could book me for a future service and I stated that wasn’t going to work as I travelled to the city to make this appointment and would just like my refund back. Once again she stated she needs to confirm with the stylist again and that she wasn’t in. This was over three weeks ago and I am still waiting on my $100.00 refund.
I have been going to Crown N Glory since its inception and can only say positive things from my experience. I am a Muslim and they accomodate making the space hijabi friendly when I do book appointments. It's always a good time and I leave feeling rejuvenated and fresh. I would go to other Salons and have long wait times and styles that are not anywhere near what I asked. This place is professional and accommodating. Would highly recommend for self care/ great styling and environment. Particular shout out to my stylist Aisha ?
Erica Smart did my starter locs and all I can say is she did an amazing job. I’ve received so many compliments in the past two days already. The parting, the accuracy of sizing based on what I asked, the quick and painless process all speak to her skills. She has a very calming spirit that is so welcoming and uplifting. She is receptive to your feedback and really cares about doing it right. Clearly takes pride in her work. Everyone else was very friendly too, ultimately creating a relaxing environment. The place is clean and the music is ?. Love the decor too. I was sent here by a colleagues recommendation and I’ll be sure to pay it forward by telling everyone to go here.
First and last time I would visit this salon. I booked the deep moisture or protein option. Emphasis on the “OR” I was told prior to starting the wash that i would be getting the moisture option, NOT the protein treatment, as my hair needed moisture not a protein treatment. Imagine my surprise when it was time to pay, i was told that they did a combination of protein and moisture treatment. Which added $30 to my original bill of $55. There was no communication that they decided to do both a protein and moisture treatment and that it would be an additional charge. I didn’t even get a deep moisture treatment. She applied Aphogee treatment on my hair, put me under a hairdryer for 15 minutes and that’s was all. If you will be adding extra services, its only right and ETHICAL that you inform the customer. What if i had no extra money on me? I was so upset and felt taken advantage off. It felt so dodgy. Advice for you, communicate with your customers, especially if you’re adding a service that will cost extra. Never again.
If you are ever in need of some TLC this is the place you NEED to go to. Each and everyone of the ladies on this team are ALL about caring for your hair. I've been to quite a few salons and I must say they really have created a free space for you to come and relax and be pampered while getting your crown slayed. I decided to get single braids and we all know how time consuming that is but it was all done in 4 hours I was left speechless. A big thing for me is my time management and they were ontime and even finished early. I will definitely be returning for all my hair care needs. Thanks crown N Glory ??
