Really tasty and filling beef patty. Friendly service and really inviting environment with a nice colour scheme and it’s kept very clean. Impressed and will return to try a proper meal one day.
Very high quality oxtail. Every piece of oxtail deboned itself after some jiggling with my fork, that's how tender the meat was. They gave me all high quality cuts. Well seasoned meat, soft like butter, the gravy was beefy. The rice and peas was next level. The takeout package was meticulously put together as you can see from the pictures. Inside the restaurant is humble and fuss free with authentic Jamaican themed decor. Cozy and comfy with a few seats. Staff was super friendly too and checked with me about the correctness of the warmth of my order. They definitely care about quality. Definitely the best I've had in my various visits to Caribbean restaurants in the GTA. The side of macaroni was quite tasty too, a welcome departure from the coleslaw I get at every place. Easily the best oxtail in the downtown core
I highly recommend! Delicious food and the owners are so sweet! So far is have tried the jerk chicken (sweet and spicy deliciousness) with gravy on rice and peas (lots a flavour and perfectly cooked), and the spicy beef patties (perfect ratio of pastry to filling and the filling is wonderfully complex). Oh and don’t skip the coleslaw, it’s fantastic (vinegar base and a little bit sweet). I will be back to try more!
Went here because of 5 star got 2 plates of rice with oxtail goat curry she ended charging 1.50 each for gravy we didnt ask for extra witch no place ever does that... i was scammed We spend 60$ ontop it was so salty full of bones berly any meat... i dont recommend this place to anyone wont be going back ever again.. their 5 star gotta be family because that food aint worth 5 star.
I am happy about Smart and Morris Jamaica Takeout. I have seen this restaurant many times on my travel but the location is busy and parking can be tight. This day I decided to UBER Pick up and I parked in the Green P parking down the street. It was quite a walk but, nothing like a nice walk and get some exercise. I had to wait a while but my main observation is service and good food. I ordered big! I ordered an Oxtail Dinner (Large), Fried Chicken Dinner (Large), Fried Plantain (4pcs), 1 Pasta Salad (Medium) and a Pineapple Soda. The food is delicious! It was worth the wait I put in waiting for it. The people who work there are amazing as well they had a smile and a welcome which was grand for me. I enjoyed the Pasta Salad it just blended well with the Oxtail and I was just happy I made the effort to come here. My bill was over seventy but the food was top! I will return and I ask others to visit and enjoy. The soup is delicious as well. Thank you Smart and Morris great food!!!!
Food was tasty I like a creamy coleslaw, the jerk chicken 9/10 nice taste you get that smokey flavor, ackee and saltfish was oily but tasty over all we give this place a 8/10
Restaurant had limited options as they were still making their food. Ended up getting the oxtail since it was all they had available at the time. Oxtail wasn't bad but wasn't the best either. Would probably give Jerk King a try next time since it is around the corner. Staff was very friendly.
