I visited The Big Carrot Juicery for the second time this week and was once again impressed, thanks to Fiona. Her friendliness, attentiveness, and genuine care make each visit feel welcoming. The staff preparing my drink were equally thoughtful, ensuring it was made perfectly. Between the wide selection of beverages and Fiona’s personal touch at the counter, visiting feels more like catching up with a friend than just getting a drink. It’s rare to experience such kind, positive service paired with high quality products. Highly recommended!
I’ve always had excellent service at The Big Carrot, which is why what happened on December 9 around 4 PM at the coffee bar was shocking. I ordered a matcha and was met with blatant disrespect. The cashier and the barista were rude from the start, and the difference in how they treated me compared to other customers was noticeable and uncomfortable. When I simply asked for the drink to be made less hot, they exchanged looks, laughed, and pulled faces, as if a basic request was something to mock. They refused to make eye contact and their overall attitude felt dismissive in a way that carried an unpleasant undertone. This behavior is completely out of line with the values The Big Carrot promotes. Staff should never make a customer feel singled out or belittled. The young, shorter white blonde woman working the counter in particular needs immediate coaching, because this type of conduct is unacceptable in any setting, especially one that prides itself on community and inclusivity. I’m writing this because experiences like this shouldn’t be happening, and I hope management takes it seriously.
My first experience with juicing and not a good one. Celery juice ..I was given the remaining juice that did not fit into the bottle and it was so incredibly bitter that I couldn’t finish it. When brought to the attendants attention I was told that depending on the leafiness of the celery it could be bitter. Against my better judgement I left with store with the $24.00 bottle of celery juice. I realized that there was no way I could drink this juice. It was so incredibly bitter so I came back and the girl said I was out of luck as I had left the store. She should have switched the juice before I left the store..not good PR and not good salesmanship.
Amazing. Of course it’s a bit on the pricier side but if you want to treat yourself you get something so delicious and healthy. Yum. I’m sad I don’t live down the street.
Pretty expansive menu with drinks that have a bit more unique ingredients, are a bit pricier, and generally less sweet than the standard juice bar. Got the chaga spice latte which had a strong turmeric kick, and the solar power smoothie which had a pleasingly strong chocolate taste. Generally enjoyed both.
I'm honestly addicted to how good these drinks are. Been getting the Mexican hot chocolate all winter, in the warmer weather they have a huge selection of fresh juices, healthy & protein smoothies etc. Tip your bartenders for + good karma
When I'm around the Danforth area I always stop by for their Liver & Kidney Flush Juice. It's so fresh and it has all of my favourite ingredients like beets, carrots, ginger, lemon and cayenne. Store has a lot of options, staff are helpful and patient and it’s very clean inside.
