We’ve been vendors at this market before, but our experience has become extremely disappointing. It feels like they no longer care about supporting small or modern businesses. New vendors with fresh, creative products have no chance — they just keep giving space to the same old sellers with outdated items. The market now looks more like a secondhand shop than a real artisan market. Most vendors are selling used clothes, old decor, and things that look like they came straight out of Value Village — just with higher prices. We tried to bring something new, original, and high-quality, but instead of welcoming variety or improvement, they made everything more complicated and unwelcoming. There’s no fair system, no support for small businesses, and no effort to refresh the market atmosphere. If you’re looking for unique local products or creative makers, this is not the place anymore. Sadly, what used to be a fun and inspiring local market has turned into something dull and outdated.
It would have been nice to have had more time to explore this on our last trip. If you're already at St.Lawrence, plan an extra 30min to browse here. (Anyone not interested can just wait at T.H's across the street.)
One of my all-time favourite markets in Toronto. In the heart of St. Lawrence market, it is filled with many vendors selling unique clothing, art, furniture and even food. As the main St. Lawrence market building is next door, you can also shop fresh meats, fruits & vegetables. It’s a great community with familiar and new faces. If you ever get a chance to head down there on a Sunday, it’s worth checking out.
Not sure why the rating isn't higher! Although the vendor stalls are all similar-ish, they appeal to current trends and people who love to shop. I found a beautiful 2000s bag for a very reasonable price, and the kind man made sure to let me know which bags had an extra strap/did not. He also gave his feedback which helped me pick the bag I chose. Other than that, there are many jewelry, vintage clothings stands, and some food vendors as well.
Too many dirty/snake dealers charging 2x-3x eBay prices like the digital camera dealer dayday, selling jewelry from China as vintage or selling AI art. You used to be able to find actual vintage for decent prices under old management. Not even sure why there's a DJ like a nightclub when it's early in the morning.
I visited my first time yesterday. Most of the booths were clothing for men and women. I found the prices to be a bit pricey. Styles were from the 1980s and earlier. These vendors would appeal to the younger crowd 20-35 years old. I bought some items from two vendors. One was from a local artist. The other was a collector of fine bone china. I got a pretty good deal from her. There were also two jewelry stalls that I liked. I didn’t buy anything, maybe next time at another venue.
This place is very cool. So many interesting people, with true vintage racks and 1 of 1 antiques. Pins, coins, amazing jewelry and the like. Even amazing carpets!
