Went to this pita land yesterday at 9:55pm, the board said open until 11:00 pm but when I went inside I saw the guy already cleaning up and I as I kept walking towards the counter he said it’s closed. Hire better people who actually wanna work and not such slackers.
It’s been years since I went to a Pita Land location but the chicken shawarma on rice box for $5 deal looked good in their Instagram ads! When I got it looked a little bland but it was actually very delicious! Juicy, tasty chicken and I liked the garlic sauce. The deal was for National Shawarma Day, Oct 15th and it was a moderate line up at lunch time at the Bloor St. and Sherbourne Ave. location. I had to wait a long time because two people in front of me ordered 4 and 6 shawarmas! But they looked good. Unfortunately the portion of my shawarma box felt small in comparison to other box deals at other shawarma places. Still glad I got it! The place had several tables to dine in and I liked the big front windows. I also loved that they had their own spring water bottles! So only criticism was service was slow and portions were small. But it was $5!
The gyro is so delicious I always eat gyro as many places don't offer that and the owner is so generous that he gave me green and black olives, tomatoes, white onion and etc with that including the pita bread and we talked about how expensive things are in Canada and he said this is the reason he has this store to feed the Canadians the experience was amazing
I got the hummus with chicken shawarma, from the menu it looked very appealing. However what I got was disappointing, the portion was significantly smaller than expected based on the 1200 calories stated on the menu. The chicken and hummus were pretty decent but for the price I would not come back. Definitely not worth it.
Made me an excellent chicken shish kabob salad. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could (wish they had romaine lettuce or mixed greens instead of just iceberg. Otherwise, delicious food (well seasoned chicken kabob), great garlic sauce (whipped w/ olive oil) and generous with the toppings like pickled turnips. Price was reasonable for takeout.
Got the Chicken Shwarma at the suggestion of the cook. I'd never been here before and don't usually dine on middle eastern foods, so I was a little lost, but the chef dude answered all my questions and helped me figure out exactly what I should get. I like that he didn't mince words or waste time on small talk, just gave me the straight facts as soon as I walked in and was really nice about my cluelessness. The wrap was good and filling, but I do wish that I didn't add hummus to it on top of the other sauces and veggies, it was a little much for my palate. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're craving Shwarma or anything similar. The store is clean and inviting
Food was great. Very fresh and tasty. Lots of sauce. When they are making your plate you have the options of toppings and sauce. I asked for extra saucy and it was delicious. The service was definetly a little slow, it took him 20 minutes to make our three plates. Everything was good, I would just like faster service next time. I recommend Pita Land Bloor St.
