Have shopped McQuade’s since the sixties. It was a decent source for reasonably priced used instruments great for beginners or mods. It was the reason I would enter the store. In recent years not so. Fewer instruments and not well priced. This morning I looked at three basses; one $3 off retail, another $4, a third $10. Am confused by the marketing. Fortunately I might have enough guitars.
This is a clean shop. I picked up a Jackson bass there recently. Something was wrong with the pickups and they turned around with a repair in only 1 day! Great stock, staff, and service. 5 stars all the way :)
Great service and patience! If you’re in the business of getting an electric guitar I’d recommend Richard he was super helpful in guiding me, a noob, towards the guitar that would provide the sound I was looking for! But to be honest! I’ve yet to go to someone there who isn’t highly knowledgeable! 10/10 highly recommend
I think Long and MCQuade is a great Canadian Success story.... BUT If I want to order online. I'm stuck with Purolator... I think I see why Amazon is winning the retail battle... If I order from Amazon, my package is on my porch - on time. Every time. Canadian retailers are stuck with Purolator... With Purolator there is a tiny chance your package shows up... but a much bigger chance that you get a message stating that delivery was attempted but nobody was home and you can pick your package up within the next 5 days in ETOBICOKE, (I live in Mississauga). No notice left on the door. I "rescheduled" delivery using the "virtual assistant" (since it is not possible to reach a human at Purolator),and nothing happened. 45 minutes of wasted time. Package is still in Etobicoke. I'm just gonna let them send it back to Long & McQuade and I'll order from Amazon. ALSO... Purolator wants you to spend money on INSURANCE or YOU'RE on the hook if your parcel gets swiped from your porch...
They have done a fantastic job with that location. Clean and pretty well laid out. I don't like how the guitar amps are all in one section, but the flow of the store dictates that, and it isn't a deal breaker. Staff are friendly, helpful and eager to assist. The guitar wall is gorgeous.
This is my favorite music store. Each outlet offers a different and unique view of instruments available. And the staff are very helpful. Ask and you will find!
This place is HUGE and most likely will have what u need! John was a great help as I needed to get a used Acoustic Guitar and also 5 Ukeleles... Neil (Store Manager) was able to give me a great deal! Thanks so much Long & McQuaid!
