I ordered the Capricciosa and holy hell, this place does not play around. The focaccia was perfect - light, crispy, and actually fresh, not that sad dry stuff most places use. The meats and mozzarella were super high quality, and the homemade garlic aioli ties everything together like it’s a damn art form. Shoutout to the dude at the counter — absolute legend. He hooked me up with a little “secret addition” that the regulars get (a house hot sauce thing they make). I’m not kidding when I say it transformed the sandwich. If they ever bottle that sauce I’m buying three. Service was friendly, fast, and actually felt human. Atmosphere is cozy, and the food is worth every dollar. If you like Italian sandwiches made with care, this is one of the best in the city. I’m already planning my next visit.
One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had! We both ordered the Il Padrino. Although we both ate the entire sandwich because it was so amazing, we could have split one. Highly recommended!
My partner picked up sandwitches for us and they were pretty tasty! The only thing was that the amount of meet seemed a bit small compared to the rest of the things in the sandwitch. I had the Alla Romana and it was quite tasty. I recommend for dine in and take out.
Updated review about a year later from the original: Unfortunately I can no longer rate this place as high, because there is a lack of consistency in the sandwich. I always order the same one. The quality of the bread varies, and the quantity of meat varies too each time. Today, there was so little prosciutto I actually was unable to taste it. Just cheese and tons of sundried tomato. The balance I enjoyed so much the first time I had it last year hasn't been there. I'm kind of sad about it. Photo attached is for my most recent update. Phenomenal fresh Italian sandwiches, one of my favourite meals across Toronto to treat myself to. Every single component the sandwich is of high quality and I appreciate the simplicity of the whole thing that gives way to a characteristic wholesome fresh flavour. Bonus: the price is great and the staff is helpful and lovely.
