I’m a proud Dominican, and without a doubt, this is the best Dominican food in Toronto! I happily drive an hour and a half just to enjoy their Sancocho and the Original Mofongo; both taste just like home. The only thing missing is an ice-cold Presidente beer, but that’s on the LCBO for not making it available to restaurants, not on Canabacoa. We absolutely love this place! Capry and her husband are amazing ; their warm hospitality and top-notch service make every visit feel like you’re with family. If you want an authentic taste of the Dominican Republic, Canabacoa is the real deal. ❤️

The wait time here is terrible!! the food is okay I’d give it 7/10 but the wait was ridiculous. Went here for my sisters birthday, there was only 1 table when we arrived. Took about an hour and 40 mins for the food to come out. The table behind us came in 30 mins after us and was served their meals, paid their bill and left BEFORE we even got our mains. Not sure if they knew the owner or what but the experience wasn’t pleasant. We even had kids with us and they were so tired of waiting for the food. They ran out of their main dish which sucked and We didn’t order any dessert because we were worried it would take another hour to come out. Spent about $150 and don’t believe it was worth it. Went on google reviews after and saw that there are A LOT of reviews claiming the same issue. Don’t bother coming here unless you have 2-3hrs to spend waiting for your food.

The food is definitely good and the flavors are solid. My only critique is that the portion of meat protein is small for the price. A little more would really elevate the value of the meal.

The best Dominican spot hands down! 1000% amazing the food was sooo good, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The customer service was immaculate everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I honestly can’t wait to go back!

My bf was craving some Dominican food, and he wanted me to experience and taste the food that he grew up with. We were traveling to Toronto for the first time, and he had to have this on our list. We were welcomed and they were so kind to us. They offered free coffee, which I was surprised. I felt very at home here! We had the Bollito De Yucca, Mofongo Mixto, and the Carne de Res Guisada. The Bollitos De Yuca was interesting! I loved the melted cheese and the cassava was nice. I really enjoyed it. The Mofongo Mixto, the sauce it came with was sooo good. Creamy, buttery and highly addictive. The mashed green plantain was good. I haven't tasted it before but it paired so well with everything. The meat was so juicy and tender. The Carne De Res Guisada was similar to the mofongo. It had a nice salad with it and the rice was cooked perfectly. I'm glad I had the chance to experience Dominican food. My bf looked like he was back home again, enjoying every bite he took. He wanted to pack the rest and enjoy it at home. It was really sweet to see. The service was great!! They had a chance to conversate in their language and it was so cool to hear it and be there listening.

Went to this location to watch a soccer game and rhe experience was dissapointing. The speakers did not work, there is only one tv for the restaurant which doesn't work for the layout, no glasses for shots, food was blend, service was average, and by the end of the night, there was no more beer. Note this was a final, and reservations were made in advance, so organization and planning could have been much much better. The experience was dissapointing for the group and all other customers.

I recently dined at Cabacoa , a great new addition to St Clair. The ambiance is inviting, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring a delightful dining experience. The owner personally greeted us and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was really good; I loved the mix of Mexican and Dominican options available. On top of that, their drink menu surprised us as they make really great drinks. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food at a great price $$$$ and excellent hospitality!
