Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Oh my days, Daymi is slinging flavours at me that I’ve never perceived before. Immediately, the crispy fried dough littered on top delivers a satisfying crunch without being greasy, with a yeasty aroma that pairs beautifully with the rich lentil soup. The stew itself is hearty and fragrant, brimming with umami, while the subtle sweetness and tang from pomegranate molasses, punctuated by bursts of juicy pomegranate seeds, brightens every spoonful. Making the scaffold of this dish, the aromatic rice is infused with soft, sweet raisins, caramelized onions, and perfumed with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove to create an inviting fragrance. The roasted chicken leg is the star: paper-thin, ultra-crisp skin with a golden-brown colour and seasoning that sings with umami. The meat underneath is juicy and tender, perfectly complemented by a garlicky, herby tomato sauce, called dakkous. The interplay of the sweet raisins, spiced rice and crispy savory skin - that makes you want to snack on them like chips - makes each bite addictive.
I love Lebanese food. And one thing we rarely see is authentic garlic sauce, (toum) with the authentic ingredients generally in wraps. Pickles, fries, chicken and lots of toum. It was my first time but not my last. Perfection!
Delicious. Came to try the Arayes, fantastic. Also got a Taouk wrap and Freekeh salad. The fresh herbs, spices and mint made for an excellent meal. Definitely coming to try more.
daymi is my go to for home style arabic dishes, unfortunately though today the dish barely had any chicken ( Moloukhiya) which was annoying cause thats not a complete adult meal worth the price.
I had the Fattat Hummus and it was amazing. Super fresh, friendly staff, and good vibes coming from the other patrons. The inside is also beautiful and full of colourful art, clean and spacious. Absolutely recommend, great prices, and a very fast kitchen! Thank you! شكرا
First time trying this spot, we had walked by a few times and so glad we did! Wraps were fresh, great toppings and big. Honey halloumi side was so tasty and perfect to share. Can’t wait to try the chicken and rice main and the lentil stew.
I ordered a chicken sandwich, but the toum tasted like potato, and the knafeh was like mhalbiyeh with bread crumbs. Just one bitr.. And I had to throw them away. It's disappointing to say this about a Lebanese restaurant, especially as a Lebanese person.
