We had a very terrible experience with this restaurant in September for our small event. We had ordered food in advance for 60–65 people, trusting them with an important occasion. Unfortunately, the food quality was extremely poor. The undhiyu had a very bad smell and tasted stale, and the paneer sabji had no taste at all. It honestly felt like old food—as if it had been prepared days earlier, stored in the fridge, and then served to us. This was very shameful and embarrassing for us at our own event. Such negligence and lack of responsibility are unacceptable. Never ever order food from them.
I have ordered the gujrati thali the veggies was tasteless and misal pav was too oily wasn't able to eat a single bite of the entire food everything was tasteless or unhealthy. Doesn't suggest to visit it anyhow.
I was there today on 29th November (evening) good place and the staff who served me was amazing (Tanisha) she guided me very well to choose items from their menu. Owner is blessed to have employee like Tanisha.
If you are someone who enjoys home made food then this a place to go. We ordered rajbhog special thali and it was sufficient for two people. The chappati reminded me of my home. Simple, tasty and quality food served at affordable price. Only thing is the ambience can be a little better for dine in.
The worst manchurian I ever had! First they told me that they will check if they have and again came out and told that they have everything with so much confidence. I told dry. They made it gravy to cover the frozen balls that are so hard. The worst experience. My bad I went with so much of expectations.
During a recent visit to Rajbhog Restaurant in Scarborough, my friend and I ordered a mix of traditional Gujarati dishes along with some Indo-Chinese offerings. While the food showed potential in certain areas, the overall experience left much to be desired due to service and ambience issues. **Food Quality** We ordered the **Kathiyawadi Thali**, **Sev Usal**, **Dahi Puri**, and **Hakka Noodles**. * **Kathiyawadi Thali**: The thali was generous and mostly satisfying. It included *sev tomato*, *ringan bharta* (eggplant), and *lasaniya bateta* (garlic-flavored potato curry). The eggplant dish, however, was notably more oily than what is typical in Gujarati cuisine. Accompaniments like *khichdi-kadhi*, *ghee-gor* (clarified butter and jaggery), and *churma laddu* were well-prepared and brought comfort to the plate. * **Sev Usal**: This dish was mediocre—neither particularly flavorful nor disappointing. It lacked the boldness and depth typically expected from this spicy street food. * **Dahi Puri**: Unfortunately, this was a letdown. The chutneys (green and red) were overly acidic, which overshadowed the balance of flavors. Additionally, the puris had the texture and taste of fryums rather than crisp puffed puris, compromising the overall dish. * **Hakka Noodles**: This turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The noodles were well-cooked, with a good mix of vegetables and a nicely balanced spice level. They offered a satisfying contrast to the otherwise traditional Indian fare. **Ambience & Service** The dining experience was severely impacted by the non-functional air conditioning. Despite being indoors, the temperature was uncomfortably warm, making the meal less enjoyable. Notably, a mother with an infant in a stroller was visibly affected by the heat, highlighting a serious lapse in customer comfort. When questioned about the AC, the owner, Mr. Kirit, provided a dismissive explanation, stating, *"the kitchen door is open at the back, that’s why you are not able to feel the AC."* This response felt more like an excuse than a solution, raising concerns about customer care. Further, when my friend requested a milder spice level for the Hakka noodles, the owner’s response was unexpectedly curt: *"The spice mix contains that I will put—I don’t know whether it’s spicy or less spicy."* A more courteous and accommodating approach would have gone a long way in enhancing the customer experience. Overall: Rajbhog Restaurant has potential, especially with dishes like the Hakka noodles and elements of the thali. However, the experience is currently overshadowed by inconsistent food quality, lack of temperature control, and unwelcoming customer service. No hand towels in washroom. A stronger focus on hospitality and attention to detail could significantly improve the dining experience.
Worst customer service. I ordered surti locho and waited for it more than 1 and half hours and when I received Surati locho I was disappointed with it. I complained about as it wasn’t cooked properly and there’s no taste of salt even. They didn’t replaced it or didn’t provided any compensation.
