So I got an order of jerk chicken which was great! However the callaloo was awful how do yall not peel the stems?! If this was an authentic Carribean spot they would know the stem needs to be peel I feel like I’m eating bamboo stalks ! 8$ in the garbage . I really tried to eat it but could not.

UPDATE: The owner is now questioning my ability to discern authenticity. I have tried superb Caribbean cuisine in the GTA and in Caribbean nations and I have a good sense of authenticity; and this place does not pass the authenticity test Liberty Village food blows and this place will let you know why. Almost every resto here serves unauthentic food. The shawarma place is unauthentic, the pizza place is unathentic, the thai place is unathentic, and this place served unauthentic Caribbean food The oxtail curry here was awful. The rice was too bland and the oxtail was gelatinous and the gravy had a very off taste. Everything on the plate felt like it was made by a place that just put up some Caribbean decorations and uses unauthentic methods. But this seems normal in the restaurants of Liberty Village where people are easily fooled on authenticity. Liberty Village food blows. There are far better Caribbean food places in the area like Alwyns, Roywoods. Consider visiting those places for quality and authentic Caribbean food

This is my favourite local eatery, and I'm surrounded by restaurants. The food here is exactly how my Jamaican mom used to prepare it. There is a wide variety of dishes from jerk chicken to bbq chicken, oxtail, fish and plenty of side dishes. The food is fresh, tasty, healthy, and affordably priced. Secret-don't tell anyone...if you go in when it's not busy, they will prepare you a customized breakfast. I've been lucky enough to get ackee and saltfish, callaloo, plantain and festival for less than any greasy spoon. Update: Dec 16th, 2025....the staff changed, no more breakfast customization, no more stew chicken, no more "moms cooking" and no longer my favourite eatery.

The white rice at this location was way too soft; and the special instructions, which weren’t free, weren’t followed. Must have caught them on a bad day. Nevertheless, this franchise as a collective is excellent, and I’ll recommend them every time as a HALAL Caribbean brand.

First time eating here with my hubby and we both enjoyed our meals. So delicious and full of flavor. Just like how I love my carribean/Jamaican food. Very well please and will definitely be back. We also took video to share with friends. The young cashier girl, was also pleasant, friendly. These days it's hard to say 10/10 with some of the carribean spots. But this one is actually 10/10 Hands down. Much luv.

The Islands catered an awesome lunch for 100 people at our agency today. Awesome, flavourful food, arrived piping hot and brought everyone together. Jamacian Patties were delish! Happy to support a black owned business in the Liberty Village community today and will definitely be back!. #ADayOnwithGALE

Fast, hot and delicious! The jerk chicken had a bit of kick to it and I loved it. I know most people get the oxtail gravy on top but I would suggest getting the goat curry instead imho? if the jerk chicken is too spicy I’d get the bbq chicken which is also delicious :)

Considering you called this dish "oxtail curry", I do not think you're in a position to discern authenticity. Especially when you consider that this company is owned and operated by people actually born in the Caribbean, utilizing authentic generational recipes and cooking techniques. Regardless, thanks for the unauthentic review.

Curry goat gravy on top is one of the hidden secrets, especially back in Jamaica!
