I tried the ham and cheese sandwich. At around $14 including tax, it felt a bit pricey at first, but it was packed with fillings and absolutely satisfying. Unlike some sandwiches that skimp on greens, this one had plenty of fresh, crisp lettuce—just like in the photo. I also really enjoyed the bold flavor of the pickles, and the bread was soft and easy to eat, not dry at all.
My office always order breakfast croissants and pastries from here. Freshly made and tasty. Shawn, the owner, is very kind. We always feel welcomed here! (In the photo is sausage & egg sandwich)
Berkeley Café is one of those rare spots that just gets everything right — the food, the vibe, the people. I stopped by for a bite and ended up staying longer than planned because the place just feels good. The sandwiches are top-tier (seriously, the kind that make you stop mid-bite), and the coffee’s rich and smooth without being overdone. The atmosphere has this laid-back charm — clean, cozy, and surrounded by trees, perfect for just sitting back and taking a breather from the city noise. You can tell there’s real care behind everything they serve. Definitely my new go-to downtown spot.
I got the ham and cheese sandwich. It was around $14 including tax, which felt a bit pricey at first, but it was packed with fillings and absolutely satisfying. Unlike some sandwiches that only have a token piece of lettuce, this one had plenty of fresh, crisp lettuce—just like in the photo. Personally, I really liked that the pickles had a strong flavor, and the bread was soft and easy to eat, not dry at all. The cafe has a more casual, down-to-earth atmosphere rather than a fancy, trendy vibe. It was lively and seemed quite popular, even though it’s a small place. I’d definitely love to visit again!
Popped in for breakfast, cute non pretentious place. I got an egg and cheese croissant and a soy latte. the croissant was EXCELLENT and made to order, and the latte was really smooth and enjoyable. The staff were also kind and efficient, and on top of that everything was really well priced. $11 for a really great breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place
This place has a very positive and energetic atmosphere. I went for lunch with my friends and ordered two falafel and steak sandwiches, which were amazing. Thanks Berkeley Cafe for the great service and kind staff. I highly recommend it - absolutely fantastic!
Really amazing food. Haven't had anything I didn't like. Fresh baked pastries, and delicious large filling sandwiches. Coffee and atmosphere is top notch. Truly hidden gem of the neighborhood. Lovely, friendly service to top it off.
