Don't walk ... run! After owning my birkenstocks for 18yrs and loved how they felt, the foot beds were just on there last legs. After doing a Google search, Peter at The First Step in Summerhill Toronto came highly recommended for a rebuild, so I went in to see if they were worth saving. It was a bit of a wait (2.5 months) but well worth the wait. Be patient. I went in today to pick them up, and they looked brand new❤️. Here's now to another 18yrs of more adventures with them. I traveled 30mn to this store only to learn that it’s appointment only, and no one answered the phone (or appeared to be in) despite my arrival during their usual business hours. The reviews look great, and I love Birks (I’ve been wearing them for 15 years), but I unfortunately won’t be shopping here.
Don't let the size of the store fool you. If they don't have a Birkenstock style, you don't need it! They have everything, and the family who owns it is super nice and welcoming. They will make you feel like you're one of the family!
Excellent service. I came there and the owner was alone helping 5 people at the same time. He still took the time to listen to my needs and gave me excellent recommandations. The place is tiny, but the selection is impressive. Thank you again for the great service!
You can buy Birkenstocks anywhere in town, but you won't find the depth of knowledge and personal attention anywhere but here; they're the specialists! I won't buy my Birkies anywhere else. Highly recommended.
