My son loves it there. Owen does a great job helping our young one navigate and develop coding skills. They offer a healthy balance between screen time and outdoor play time.
My sons (aged 7 and 9) did a week of summer camp at Skill Samurai and they loved it! The counsellors and instructors were great, and the kids loved building new worlds and playing Roblox. They had a great time.
Owen is a great instructor, very friendly and patient and both my kids love working with him. My sons have come a long way in their coding and often come home excited and want to continue what they are working on. Highly recommend camps or membership!!
My son (10) has participated in both the summer camp and the afterschool program. He has loved building his own Minecraft mod, and Owen has been fantastic at guiding him with patience and encouragement along the way.
Owen at Skill Samurai has managed to keep my son interested and engaged in coding as he's worked his way through different projects and coding languages. Owen has the patience required to work with young kids and also let's each child progress at their own pace. Not only is coding an invaluable skill in this day and age but the discipline of taking your time to find your errors in your code as you work translates well to all other areas of life including his time in school. We'll be happily continuing with Owen at Skill Samurai and highly recommend this program to any child interested in learning to code!
Our 8-year-old looks forward to his 1-on-1 video lesson every week. Owen is super patient, helpful and flexible, and has helped our son figure out Scratch and Java better than I ever expected at his age.
My 12-year-old looks forward to these classes every week. This has been a bright spot while we adjust to our new normals. She had no prior coding experience, and can be known to get ... distracted ... but she really focuses on the class. And I don't need to do anything which is great for everyone involved lol. There was no set up on our end, all we need is Chrome. The instructor has been so kind, too. It is cool for my kidlet to find a new interest, and cool for me to see :)
