Great! I feel so lucky to have a talented alterations tailor nearby. Mati and his colleagues have done some great work for me. I’ve always been completely satisfied with their work. They’re very friendly, reliable, easy to work with, and reliable. Really good communication, too. Highly recommended. Many thanks to Mati and his team.
Finish of my dress didn't look great. The left and right panel of my dress were made two very different sizes instead of making them consistent. Small tears near the zipper. Did not look like a $60+tax (despite being cash/debit only) alteration job at all. When I needed my change and asked for it, the lady got offended and gave me back more money on purpose to mock me. I tried this place because it had such high ratings, but I'm not sure why it does. The craft and professionalism both aren't there. Update reply to the shop: my change was $0.20 and she was not going to give me change so when i asked for it, she said, "You need change" She looked disgusted and gave me back 4 quarters and stopped being friendly towards me, so your argument doesn't make sense. Its not like my change was $0.75 and you only had a loonie. This was intentional. 4 quarters instead of 1. I was told the panel would be an approximate size but not two different lengths. The shorter panel is not long enough when I tried it on. It needs to be the same width as the other one to function well. Just a terrible experience and terrible justification of actions.
Updated review: Mati, the owner called and explained that his store was being covered by another tailor in his absence. He offered to fix the alteration and refund the service fee. Revised the score to 5/5 stars for the service and based on the other reviews, seems like Mati does good work. ----------- (1/5) Wow... terrible work and customer service. Unclear how this place is rated so highly. Brought a $1500 jacket here to have the sleeves hemmed based on the reviews. The buttons were replaced unevenly (one side spread farther apart than the other) and the style was changed from the original non-stacked configuration to an aggressive overlap (this was not discussed beforehand). The false button holes were also just removed and not re-constructed. The inner lining was not cut to match the shortened sleeve length, leaving lots of overlap. Additionally, it was not completely closed on one side, leaving a gap. The garment was not pressed prior to pickup either. When the uneven buttons were brought up to the lady at the counter, she blatantly lied and said they were done just like the original. I insisted this was not the case and she said to come back tomorrow because she was "so busy." They charged $60 for the job. Save your time and money and take your business elsewhere.
Kind and skillful tailor! I paid around $13 for hemming my husband’s pants and don’t know if the price is good but I am happy with the quality of the service that they provided
I went to get a zipper fixed. However, when I picked up the item they said they looked it over(well they said they fixed it,lol) & there was no need to replace true zipper & charged me just over half the quoted price. I was fine with this if the issue had been fixed. However, I had to return another day as the issue wasn’t fixed & the zipper did indeed need to be replaced. After replacing the zipper, they honoured the original quoted price & only charged me the difference; as it should’ve been. …that’s good customer service!! …& the workmanship was very good. …5*
I had a very important function to go to and I took my expensive dress to a seamstress and she was uncertain as to how to fix the shoulder and finish it clean as well as to take in the bust area. When I heard that, I took my dress from her and I started to search the best seamstress in North York. Then I found this guy on Google and I went through the positive reviews and he has 5/5 stars and I thought wow this place must be good. I should have known better!! Right away, I called this place and explained what happened with the previous seamstress to the guy and, I asked him if he could do it for me and if it would be ready on time for my event. He said he would do his best! Immediately, I took the dress to him and he said that he would charge me $36 and I agreed to pay as long as he did a good job. Then after three days, I went to pick it up. I gave him $50 and I was expecting my change, all of a sudden the price jumped from $36 to $50 and I was Shocked to see that kind of dishonesty. Then he said oh I thought I said $50 and I ended up paying $40. I wanted to try the dress for some reason and I tried the dress on the spot My $500 dress was a mess! The lining of the dress is pink and the previous seamstress used black thread to show me how the dart will look and this guy kept the same thread and the same darts. And one of the shoulder seam was so crooked... He had to redo everything while I was sitting there. I was so upset and disgusted! Not only I was late but my dress looks horrible inside and out! I ended up waiting for over half an hour and I was late for my event! I was definitely deceived by the positive reviews however, a very big lesson learned in this process!
Cheapest rates and fastest service for alterations I have been able to find! Matti is exceptionally good at what he does, he's very friendly and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy with your clothes! Would definitely recommend his services.
