Very difficult to read the tea selection or get any information about prices. I tried to ask for help, but I did not understand the response and was quickly brushed off with “call me when you decide what you want.” I then went closer to the tea jars to read the ingredients (and to see if there were prices), but I was told to step back and that I was not allowed to be there. Since it was impossible to read the ingredients or know the prices, I left and shopped at a different store.
Absolutely, love the atmosphere and the shop it self, great tea and they have a variety of tea available for all!!! Gem of a place !! Loved the shop owner , love her welcoming nature and great customer service !!!
I purchased 2 Japanese teapots that cost $1800 but the infusers were missing so the attendant said she will order. Four months later no infuser & no contact from the merchant. Very poor service. Shop elsewhere. The merchant replied saying Customer Service was paramount and ended their reply asking if there was anything else I required. After detailing in my original post that I did not receive items I paid for (tea infusers that come with these Japanese teapots) they have not provided any support in getting the items. Probably a form letter response where they can say they replied but nothing to address their service. One star is too generous a rating - should 0.25 stars.
Marisha was incredibly helpful when looking for my matcha. Her generosity and patience in explaining the methods in which matcha is whisked and brewed was inspiring and so profoundly educational. You can feel her passion for tea and the joy in sharing it with others. This was my first time there and I will definitely be returning and spreading the word! Thank you!
Marisha is the best! The store might look unassuming but they have a wide wide variety of teas from all over the world! Most importantly though Marisha is super knowledgeable and takes the time to explain and share that knowledge with you making sure you're getting the best that fits your wants. Beats any other store and especially all the big chains out there! Will be back in the future for sure
It's a great place to get a good quality tea of various types. Owners were really helpful in choosing them, apart from being knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend if you are new to specialty tea or just want to find a new place to stock up
A beautiful little shop that's been here for decades, with carefully chosen teas and teaware from around the world. The owner Marisha is very knowledgeable and helpful. House of Tea is a treasure in this neighbourhood!
