Great tea shop, lots of variety, including chaga chucks, powder and nuggets (which are all super hard to find elsewhere at a fair price)! Store is pleasant too.
The Tea itself has been fine for me, customer service wasn't that great. Waited over 2 weeks and they didn't ship, had to email them. If I didn't email them I don't think they would have ever shipped it. They didn't even reply to my email or give me any reason as to why? First and last time customer.
Stumbled upon this gem and was so happy with my experience! As others mentioned, the prices were reasonable, staff was friendly, and there was a great variety of teas. If the shop was more organized and aesthetically pleasing (there were cardboard boxes everywhere), I think this place could be a big hit. Still going to give 5 stars instead of 4 because my experience was 10 times better than at a different tea shop two blocks away!
A real tea shop for real tea lovers—no bullshit, fair prices, super friendly staff. 11/10 will be going again and again. Note: They specialize in straight teas with only some blends (hallelujah!).
Visited this store last weekend and I had such a lovely experience. There was a tea I bought here many years ago that was discontinued and the worker behind the counter, Antonia was so helpful and committed to helping me recreate the blend by pairing different teas together. She was patient and very hospitable and I really appreciated her help because originally I was just going to buy a single green tea and leave and cut my losses, but she took the time to help me build a similar tea. The result is an amazing blend that I love even more than the original! Thanks so much for your help and wonderful high quality teas, can’t wait to come back for more!
I was delighted with my first experience today at this tea shop. I am a discerning tea consumer and I have been having a difficult time finding an organic Japanese green tea that fit the flavor profile that I am looking for. I was relieved when Marisa immediately recommended two teas when I shared with her what my flavour preferences are. She was very professional, knowledgeable, experienced, and personable. This made the experience for me. For a large city of this size, it can be challenging to find quality teas! I will try my new tea selection soon. I am hopeful that I have found my tea shop for organic Japanese green tea!
Edit: TTL did refund as mentioned in the reply to this review, So I added another star :) … The package reads that the ingredients are stalks and stems, but there are lots of green tea leaves too (see photos). In store it was hard to tell if the darker green parts were leaves or stems. Leaves = too much caffeine for me. I tried email twice to get a refund since it was Tao’s mistake on the packaging; no answer. Friendly in store staff though, so two stars rather than one.
