Everyone was so nice and helpful. It was hard as I had to put my gerbil down, but I know it wasn't their fault. It was very clean and they were pretty quick. Parking is a little bit of a pain.
The Doctor helped us and explained how the procedure was going to go and agreed it was his time. The family had time alone with him and we were there until his end. They made his passing easier for us and did offer consoling. I would thank and recommend the staff.
I really can't speak for the staff's competency, I'm sure they do a great job. I would hope so if a consultation alone is over $130. I called to ask about an estimate for a brain scan for my epileptic cat, and they told me only vets could ask those questions. How am I supposed to prepare financially if I don't have even a ballpark estimate? Why can't I get a basic answer to a basic question just because I'm not a vet? What kind of secret society bs is that? So now I guess I'll be wasting my vet's time giving him a list of places to call so we can make a financial decision together while other pets are waiting for medical attention.
This place took a really long time and Im not sure why. Tests they performed on my dog took 2 hours whereas my vet does the exact same test in 15 minutes. I understand its an emergency clinic but after waiting 2 hours to see my dog, it took another 2 hours to do test on him. Which I would also understand if it was busy or if the test were time consuming. But after waiting for them to see the other dogs ahead of mine there were no more dogs waiting.
Our dog had an emergency over the labour day long weekend, and this clinic was a lifesaver. I think it's important to realize that it is an emergency clinic and they work on a triage basis - not first come first served - and that they can get very busy as one of the only 24 hr vet clinics available. As a result, you will likely pay more and wait longer, and at times things can seem a bit chaotic. However, I was very grateful for their swift and appropriate help when my beloved dog was quite urgently ill. They handled it quickly and the vet we eventually spoke with made an effort to ensure we understood the treatment plan and that we could see our dog before leaving for the evening, with the promise that we would be contacted with any important updates. It was very busy again when we returned to pick our dog up, and I had made a number of unreturned calls earlier that day. However, we understood that our pet was quite stable now and were happy to wait to get her back, as there were now many others that needed more urgent care. Overall I am very grateful to this clinic for their care and diligence in a very stressful situation, especially while busy trying to help so many other animals and their families.
