Fantastic place to go to for a refined cocktail and some classic eats. While definitely on the pricier menu side, it's to be expected for the class and atmosphere you get to soak in with the Omni. Food portions are smaller than expected but the cocktails were decently crafted.
We are local and stayed a night here because we had some work done on our wood floors. Went to the bar to watch a Jays game- very fun atmosphere for that. HOWEVER I was served a burger clearly made with rotten beef- the smell was putrid and the tiny price I tried was sour. They did comp the whole bill but this is not okay- there is no way the cooks didn't know.
TLDR: I cannot think of a reason for anyone to visit this place unless out of convenience. GO ELSEWHERE We recently had an awful experience with two of your servers. For a place that touts $25+ cocktails you would expect for them to at least be served with a smile. When we arrived at Consort Bar on the afternoon of August 22, our order was taken by Kenny. We had ordered some food but Kenny kept trying to leave our table mid-ordering as we were also trying to order drinks. Not sure where he had to run off to but if he needed to leave, don't start taking our order. Amongst the order, I clarified that we do not want a Peach Belini three times as he kept repeating the order and included the Peach Belini in his summary. Then, another server arrives at our table named Sravan. He brought over a Peach Belini. We said we didn't order this as we also told Sravan that Kenny must have added this into our order erroneously. As he went to pick up the Belini to remove it from our table, he says, "ok I will take it away" then under his breath proceeding that he says "although we already made it". That's not our problem, Kenny should not have added it to our order in the first place. If it was our fault then sure, get a bit annoyed but in the hospitality industry, I didn't know it was acceptable to poke jabs at your customers. This behaviour we would have expected at a quick service restaurant if anything but what tier of retaurant is Consort Bar pretending to be. We did not want to make a scene so we chose not to confront him in the moment. We did get a chance to speak to the manager later and provided this feedback. I can only hope he actually gets spoken to and changes how he treats the customers. Outside of these two servers, there were other servers who were attentive with refilling our water and clearing our plates. For food we had the meatballs, bruschetta and fish cakes. Meatballs had an good flavour, was a bit on the salty side. Bruschetta was pretty good, it came with an achovy on top which was a nice addition. The fish cakes were mushy and flavourless.
Fantastic Bar Experience Absolutely amazing drinks, paired with really delicious food and desserts. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. What made the evening even more special was the wonderful service — we were taken care of so kindly by Valentina, who was attentive, warm, and made us feel truly welcome. It’s rare to find a bar that combines great atmosphere, outstanding cocktails, and such genuine hospitality. We left with smiles on our faces and will definitely return on our next visit. Highly recommended!
You’re paying a premium for subpar cocktails. The food may be good (my rating for food reflects cocktails) but we didn’t order any on our visit. The cocktails were poorly crafted, with most juice and minimal alcohol (the supposed 3 oz special summer menu drinks were bland at best with dashes of bitters and juice). Would not return for cocktails as there are infinite better choices in downtown Toronto, unfortunately for us we chose consort. Won’t make that mistake again.
The place is cosy and calm (I would prefer it without the TV screens, but at least those were muted). The barwoman was nice. We had 2 cocktails and the parmesan fries. The Spiced Old Fashioned was good, but the Martini wasn't (it was one of the worst Martinis I ever tried). The fries recipe was good, with the parmesan and the truffle mayonnaise, but the fries themselves were very disappointing.
Spent a lovely afternoon here, enjoying a fabulous French Onion soup, tea and good company. Finding a quiet and comfortable spot to catch up with friends that allows you to linger is getting harder and harder to find in Toronto. Love this place.
