Had a lovely time here back in April visiting Family. The food was hearty and full of flavour—proper comfort food done right. The pub itself has a warm, cozy feel, and a big shout-out to our server Rachel, who was an absolute gem. Friendly, attentive, and great craic, she made sure we were well looked after all evening. A grand spot and well worth a visit.
Had a lovely time at The West Cork Irish Pub. Warm, cozy atmosphere, great drinks, and proper Irish pub vibes. A special shout-out to Rachel—she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience even better. You can tell she really cares about the customers. Will definitely be back!
Rachel was the greatest server ever, she took care of us beyond recognition and I will definitely be back in hopes of being served by her. Long live the west cork
Been going to the west cork since it opened and the bar woman Rachel has served me most times, she’s so pleasant friendly and always have a laugh with her, always great walking in knowing the banter will be great when she’s working, highly recommend this spot for good food and pints :)
Recently visited the west cork whilst in Toronto visiting family. Food was excellent , beer was tasty and our server Rachel made us feel right at home! She made us feel very welcome and made sure we were very well looked after during our time here! Great work Rachel !!
Updated! It was only right per their reply. It’s the little things I say! Now how about $5 Guinness pours? ———————— Really great to see someone finally flourish in this space. Food and service are fantastic would be nice to see them add a few more local taps to the lineup of brews. Wings are great,, Fish and chips were delish and their Guiness pours are spot on. Knocked a point off for $5 gravy. FIVE DOLLAR GRAVY? THE FRIES ARE $5?! What on earth makes a ladle of gravy $5? That’s just simply offside/silly. You can thrive on good food/service and honest pricing- hopefully the reputation of overcharging (which seems to be common thread in the reviews) doesn’t get ahead of you... That would be a shame. As someone who’s been in the neighborhood for 20yrs- it is good to see someone in this space doing well.
TLDR: a great small business with yummy food that is worth supporting, but one of the servers intentionally tried to overcharge us. My theatrical review is below tho lol “The river I step in is not the river I stand in” read the Time and A Clock Bridge as we passed. This prophecy would foreshadow our evening. My comrades and I stumbled upon this pub tonight and the night started off splendid. Rachel recommend that the pineapple tequila wings were a must order and were “too good”. Boy, was she right. With a vibrant personality, and ocean blue eyes that could make you forget where you came from, Rachel’s service was top notch. I would be remised if I didn’t confess how the night ended though. Me and my friends spent hours at West Cork, ordering drinks and having a great time. Our cheer was quickly turned into criticism when we realized that we had been intentionally overcharged by one of the servers at the bar, thinking we were so inebriated that we wouldn’t notice. Boy, was she wrong. At first we questioned ourselves. Surely, this must have been an accident. After all of our investment of $200+ into this business, there was no way they would have attempted to screw us over. But alas, we returned to the bar to confront our server (brunette with a stern attitude). She claimed that she had just charged us regular price (tequila shots were on special for $5 but she confessed to charging us $7.50 per shot, even though that still didn’t add up to the total cost). We received NO apology for the intentional overcharge and she gave us a meaner $7.50 out of her tip jar even though that didn’t make us whole or add up to the total she overcharged us. The Time and A Clock Bridge prophecy came true. Just because the experience started out wonderful, doesn’t mean things won’t change. All in all, I’d recommend this spot but would advise staying alert and REVIEWING your bill THREE times over. Again, Rachel was great but everyone else, keep your eyes peeled. Enjoy!
