I have been living in High Park for 3 years. I go to this butcher every other week. Always been greeted by the guys who work there, they are always polite and cordial. Good advice on cuts as I have been on a budget, and the quality is very good. I have to say, the money you save on quantity elsewhere, you lose on quality and actual nutrition. The eggs are delicious (the yolks have wonderful flavour) the beef, lamb and pork is all very good quality. I am a Brit and can’t find black pudding (blood sausage) anywhere, these guys order it in for me and the other half dozen Brits in the area. They go the extra mile when they can!
Saw the sandwich board touting sandwiches from 11am-4pm and thought it wouldn't hurt to grab one on my way to Sunnyside Beach. All sounded delicious, but ended taking the recommendation for the staff who helped me. They were great, both the staff and the sandwich. The sandwich was honestly one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have had. The chicken was juicy and crispy, without cutting up your mouth or having too much batter. The caramelized onion aoli rounded out the flavour profile beautifully. Personal preference is for more a little more lettuce and a slightly punchier pickle, but that feels really picky. Price came to about $12 total and the portion was very nice. Totally worth it.
Best butcher on Roncy - great service, wide selection of high quality meats both fresh and frozen. They're quite helpful too if you've got questions or want some help. All very high quality even the sandwiches which are made to order and very delicious.
I came across the hot sandwich, sandwich board while heading down Roncesvalles and decided to give one a try. I ordered the beef sandwich. It arrived quickly, and service was great. I also purchased hot sauce and chocolate. There is a nice selection of grocery items that are unusual. I heard the talk about meats being locally sourced and ethically farmed and butchered. Prices seemed good. The sandwich however was beyond expectation! Absolutely delicious. The whole combination of sauce and bun, lettuce and beef was perfect. I might have to move to the neighborhood.
Great range of meats, many of which are superbly marinated. Wide selection of quality ribs and sauces also. Highly recommended for BBQ season. Options for treats for my dogs also, bones and pigs ears. Big fan of this place.
I’ve never ordered cuts from them funny enough, but the hot sandwiches here are solid. The fried chicken, however, is on another level. The staff are kitchen friendly (guff but like a joke) and the prices are reasonable across the board.
The take out lunch and other meats are fantastic!! Worth the price for the quality. The 3 stars is for the service. Person behind the counter made us feel like we were a nuisance even though we were the only people in the store spending money. Improve the customer experience and it’ll be a great spot.
