As I work at the UofT Bookstore, it's always convenient to grab a tea or coffee from here so I don't be late clocking in for work. It's like, smack right outside the bookstore from the Koffler entrance. The only thing I don't like that is that the Koffler entrance Second Cup is not open on weekends when I sometimes work Saturdays...it'd be great if it was because of convenience. I do agree it is attracting lots of flies nowadays but their teas are very nice as well as their white hot chocolate. They make it consistently everytime. The perfect aroma and flavour everytime. I really like how they made the points system too! A bonus on that part! I once used my points for my friends because I couldn't drink anything for the time being due to being on my period so I didn't want to waste it and bought something for my friend and let him choose! I made their day! After I felt better, I garnered enough points to buy something for myself. I didn't know I didn't have enough for a medium because I always bring my own thermos, but the barista said it's okay since he knows me and that I'm a frequent buyer so he let it go for that one day. The food is quite fattening given it is a branch of the actual cafe and it serves sweets, but every so often, I really like their mini donuts (esp the lemon one), rice krispie bars, blueberry crumble muffins and sea salt cookies.
I really want to give this place a positive review because Second Cups are disappearing and I always prefer them over Starbucks. But unfortunately I cannot recommend this particular Second Cup. They've frequently gotten my order wrong when I visit. One time I ordered a flavoured coffee and they gave me their standard medium roast. I ordered an iced coffee once and they gave me a more expensive cold brew instead, without telling me that they don't actually have iced coffee, they only have cold brews or iced lattes. All of which cost A LOT MORE than a simple iced coffee. Another time, just recently, I ordered a medium coffee with 2 cream and 1 sugar, and got one with exactly NO CREAM in it. Another time when I was there, there was nobody in line except me, and the barista flat out ignored me. I politely waited for them to finish what they were doing but they switched to doing another task, still ignoring me. I cleared my throat, waiting, and yet they still treated me as if I was invisible. It was only when I said "can somebody please help me over here?" that they finally came over... after another minute of cleaning up. Please respect your customers more or I will not be returning.
Amazing Second Cup probably my favourite one on campus! The drinks are always made super fast and taste really good. My only qualm is there not as sweet as I would like but I have a very big sweet tooth! Overall great service, great drinks and great food. You can never go wrong with a visit to the best Second Cup on the UTSG campus.
I'm addicted to Second Cup's cheesecake, but this place ripped me off. I got a slice that had a huge chunk gone from it. Last time I came here, I got a slice even smaller. The location across the road is way more consistent and has better service.
Bad customer service. Awful coffee. They overcharge way too much for plant based milks and somehow always manage to makd drinks watery and burn the milk instead of steaming it properly. Wouldnt recommend !!
