Wallace Espresso is a teeny hole in the wall establishment just east of Stanley Park in downtown Toronto. They have high quality java options here and a small set of eats that are great. The service was very kind and helpful! The space is pretty basic. White walls. But the windows at the front in a bay setting offer a lot of light into the space! 5 x ☕☕☕☕☕
Ordered a flat white with lactose free milk. The barista was nice but the coffee wasn’t good at all, I had to throw it and get another flat white from another coffeeshop. Milk was too hot and the coffee was watery that it ruined both taste and texture. Giving 2 stars due to very bad coffee but nice service and cozy atmosphere
Such a cute little dainty coffee shop on King West. I ordered an iced latte with regular milk and also a ginger molasse cookie. The cookie was made fresh! Both items were better than what you can get at Starbucks. Would totally come back to support this local shop! Also, there’s free Wifi so if you want to work remotely here, you have seating inside with lots of natural lighting!
I have never had a bad experience here. The coffee is always good and the staff are incredibly friendly! Im usually a croissant and coffee gal but today I switched it up and got a ginger molasses cookie and it was the perfect balance sweet and spicy.
Update: 1051am Nov 28 2022. The owner reached out right away and even offered to refund the beans. I love supporting the business so did not take the refund. Thank you for reaching out Daniel. Let me say this place has great beans and is my go to neighborhood place. However unfortunate service from barista today nov 28 2022 at 910am at the stanley park location. Havent had this experience before. I walked in and there was a couple of people ahead of me. I grabbed a bag of the avontuur beans and waited to pay. As I got up the barista looked and said can I get anything started, I said I just have these beans to pay for and was told actually she was talking to the person behind me because she believe I cut the line and they were ahead of me. I said no I was here before, the person behind me also said the same but the barista wanted confirmation from that individual first before believing me. There was not a sorry said or my mistake just her head towards checking(cashing) me out and turning away. I paid and left with a fairly bitter taste.
So this review is done during stage 2 of COVID. I started coming here since Pearly Whites opened up and I didnt expect them to be opened today, but they were, so yay!!! Since I'm don't live in the city, I always stop here to get a chai latte and a pastry when i'm in the area. Each time I've been here, there has been a different staff member. But I have to say, that they are always the most friendliest of people. Today, I was recommended the breakfast sandwich, and I have to say thank you to the gentleman who recommended it because it was so delicious! I also got my favourite almond crossiant and chai latte. I'd recommend this place for anyone in the area. And when we can start dining again, I recommend coming here to sit by the window or small table to meet a friend, or read or write in this cute Cafe.
Great neighborhood cafe that isn't trying to fuel your need to take photos for your over currated insta profile. But also beautiful enough to inspire authentic photos of good or bad moments (when the delicious but greasy sandwich ends up on you) that you may have here! Either way great cafe!
