Here’s a clean, polished version of your review: --- Artsy-style coffee shop with great coffee, delicious cookies, good music and beautiful artwork on the walls. The owner has strong art-student vibes, so don’t come expecting Starbucks or plush sofas. It’s more like grabbing an espresso in a brightly lit gallery. You’ll mostly find solo customers enjoying their drinks with open laptops on firm chairs. I haven’t experience this when I brought my little one, but I’ve heard that unruly children and their caregivers have been asked to leave. Perfect for what it is—just don’t try to make it into something it’s not and choose your establishment accordingly. I personally love it when I'm in the mood.
I’ve been coming to Zav’s for the last two or three years, and it’s easily one of my favourite places to study, go on a casual date, or just catch up with a friend. The coffee, lattes, teas, and snacks are all great, but what really makes this place special is Zav himself. He’s always personable, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I’ve even seen him go out of his way to open the door for moms with strollers when he can. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot to enjoy a drink or a snack, and an even better one to get some work done. P.S. The art on the walls is beautiful and really adds to the atmosphere.
For the first time to write a review, but this cafe was just amazing I really appreciate the polite, careful and sophisticated manners from the gentleman with beard, in striped T-shirts. He was cool and amazing. Also the iced americano and the iced latte tasted the best in Toronto ever for me!
The best coffee shop on the Danforth. I love coming here whether it’s for a quick flat white or two hang in for a while. The owner is so lovely and kind. 10 out of 10 highly recommend for one of Toronto’s best East End coffee shops.
We absolutely love going to Zav’s, and it’s a staple in our family! It is dog friendly/welcoming and the owner always has a treat ready for our pup. The ginger cookies and cappuccinos are incredible.
This place is a hidden gem. The customers and staff are welcoming and the environment is so serene. They have the best cappuccino I've had in the city. The original artwork is also a nice touch.
Both my partner and I have been here on separate occasions with our baby where we were demanded to leave our stroller outside while trying to get a coffee TO-GO! This space is absolutely conducive to having a stroller at the front cash for a to-go order — the owner, however, is not. Completely rigid in his “rules” and “policy” (illegal, btw) and has undoubtedly lost business because of his lack of accessibility accommodations. To say that he can “bring a ramp out to someone who needs it” is a ridiculous claim. Is one who uses an assisted device supposed to flag him down through the window just to seek the help for a basic human right? Keep the ramp out. Let strollers in 365. Get some winter mats and caution signs for slippery floors. Bonus: ditch the bicycles on display (no knock here - they’re lovely to ooh and awe at) to accommodate assisted devices if space is the true concern.
