I’ve shopped at Sydney’s for years and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Great staff, great product line, great space. I strongly recommend them if you need a suit.
I've shopped at Sydney's "on and off" for many years, and don't know why I haven't left a review. The service is friendly and helpful, never pushy. The clothes they sell are timeless and of quality that will last forever if cared for, and the selection is a comparable but a "more unusual to find" alternative to that offered at other shops in town (e.g., Fratelli Rosetti vs Ferragamo, FOB Factory vs Orslow). Highly recommend!
Really like this shop, and will be coming back. They took a lot of care to get the right jacket and pant sizes. Sydney was there - he helped out and was great overall. Suits are nice and classy. Looking forward to further building out my wardrobe from here. And if you like small dogs, they've got a cute one called Zippy. His little bed is under the register.
Got a suit from Sydney’s and it was an incredible experience. The attention to detail, craftsmanship, and fabric selection are truly exceptional. I ended up choosing a dark navy Loro Piana fabric with a subtle, almost glen-check-like pattern, something you’d barely notice from afar, but up close it reveals a really beautiful pattern that sets it apart. It’s understated yet distinctive, and I couldn’t be happier with the choice. For context, I have an athletic build and I’m on the shorter side, so finding a proper fit has always been a challenge. Most suits either don’t sit right on my shoulders or feel too tight across the chest. And when I’ve had to size up for those areas, the waist would often lose shape and throw off the proportions. Sydney understood my silhouette perfectly. The shoulders and chest fit cleanly while the waist remains tailored and balanced. Pants have always been another struggle, my legs are on the larger side, so I usually end up with straight or wide-leg cuts. They work for casual looks but rarely feel like classic suiting. Sydney solved that by adding a subtle pleat that gives structure and room through the leg, while keeping the timeless tailored shape. I also picked up two other blazers, and they look fantastic. I’ll definitely be coming back for more suits in the future.
Always a pleasure going to Sydney's. The entire staff have incredible taste and only recommend what makes you look good. Best quality materials and workmanship. I had the honour of being looked after by Sydney himself last Saturday. As we move into Fall, I will be back again very soon for more class pieces. Thank you to the entire team!
I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Sydney’s. From start to finish, the entire team — including Sydney himself — made the process of creating my wedding suit such an enjoyable and memorable experience. Their passion and attention to detail really show in everything they do. I felt completely confident in the quality and craftsmanship of my suit, and it turned out even better than I imagined. What I loved most was how personal the experience felt. They have so many fabrics and options to choose from, but they still take the time to guide you through everything so you can design something that truly fits your body and your vision. For a special day like your wedding — or any event where you want to look and feel your best — I’d highly recommend Sydney’s. They really go above and beyond.
I seldom write reviews, but I think Sydney's deserves one. Prior to visiting Sydney's, I spent months looking for someone who understood fit. I found it very difficult to do so as I searched through major department stores and private businesses. Suiting nowadays can be a minefield with all the options available. If you are looking for made-to-measure, you are at the mercy of the sales person unless you have done your research beforehand and have impeccable style choice. Once you make the deposit, your money is gone and you might end up with a product that you are not happy with. I was very fortunate to end up at Sydney's. Although I should not have gotten two suits on my first initial visit since it could have been a disaster, I ultimately ended up getting what I wanted. Sydney's style trends towards contemporary and slim, but retains the classic tradition of a well-fitting suit. His suits will not be overly tight, they will drape well, and they will fit the way a suit should (e.g. jacket will cover your seat, shoulder fits just right, second button will align with the waist) I want to emphasize to all prospective clients that Sydney is a TAILOR and not a salesman. For those who are new to suiting, you want to find tailors rather than those that work at department stores because they understand the aspects of fit and suit details. Waterfall buttons, lapel rolls, balance...these are all things that suit aficionados should be familiar with. They were details that I researched before going to buy a suit and I was glad that Sydney knew what I was talking about. At a minimum, I think that if you leave Sydney's with a suit, then it will not be something you regret later on. It may not be perfect because made-to-measure never is and your style choices may change, but it would not deviate significantly from this ideal either. As a final word of endorsement, Sydney carries grenadines. Anybody who knows fashion understands that you know what you are talking about if you got these... It is too bad Canadians are not known for fashion and there are minimal choices available unlike places such as SR in the UK. In the absence of many options, Sydney's represents well-tailored, timeless clothing well.
