Great place to visit for a hike. This is all reclaimed land at the base of Leslie street. There is free parking at the entrance. In the spring and summer they do guided walks to observe the various birds that nest here. When we were there cormorants were nesting. You can either go straight down the paved path which will take about an hour to get to the lighthouse. Or take one of the natural paths which will take longer. You will be rewarded with great views of the lake and the city. In the spring and early summer you will see many species of birds as well.
A great park with outstanding views and wonderful scenery and trails. I've begun coming here one a regular interval, this place offers such a peaceful, beautiful spot in the city, where you can see the might of a city in the form of a skyline, yet have nature and wildlife surround you as you enter this lovely park. There's some great environmental work being done here to help wildlife, and tons of cool spots in the park for activities and views.
Great place with a few flaws. Takes a very long time to go to the end. Love this park. Beautiful and would never expect it to be right at the foot of the city.
Tommy Thompson is one of the many fantastic spots to enjoy Torontos green space. Located in close proximity to the downtown core, I would recommend either biking or driving as its close to a 3 hour round trip walk all the way out to the end (Leslie street spits). Awesome views, great to be able to enjoy nature so close to one of North Americas largest cities.
Excellent park, well maintained. Great for cycling, jogging, walking and or hiking. If you are hiking or walking, bring water and or sports drink, you will need it. Very long trail system, excellent for bird watchers and photographers.Bring your trash back with you and let's keep this park in clean state.
