Attempted to fill a prescription and was told they didn't have the medication in stock, which is fine. It happens. But then was told I needed to visit a "compounding pharmacy" and when I asked what that was or where the nearest one was I was rudely told "Just google it" by the pharmacy assistant, who then walked away.

By far the most unfriendly shoppers I’ve ever actually seen. When you walk in, the people at the cosmetics counter will definitely not say hello. Their heads are down and they’re ignoring your existence. There was one employee named Jo I think. She just kept cutting in front of me as I was walking in the aisles, trying to figure out what to buy, not even acknowledging she was doing it or apologizing. This is a place where there are a few really good and nice people but the majority don’t realize they’re in customer service. I understand that it’s a rough neighbourhood they’re in and that definitely doesn’t help with their day, but I come from a very strong customer service background and you don’t get into this by not doing the basics of your job.

Synthia at this Shoppers Drug Mart was unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I had a valid, scannable receipt and the purchase in my Optimum account, item sealed and within the return period yet she refused the refund, yelled at me, and told me to “go back where I got it.” When another cashier kindly tried to help and scanned my receipt and when I was going to tap my credit , Synthia started shouting at both of us and called the supervisor Marvic, who backed her up with a fake “policy” she couldn’t even prove. The whole scene was humiliating and caused me a lot of stress and distress over something so simple. I’ve never been treated this disrespectfully as a loyal customer. This location urgently needs retraining both Synthia and Marvic made the store look awful.

passport photos effectively do not happen here, or maybe it's like christmas or something, once a year? ...the only person authorized to take your picture has 10(?) other jobs to do... "can you come back in an hour and a half?" ...hour and a half later, "oh, sorry, can you wait ten minutes?" ...half an hour later "oh, sorry for the wait, some milk came in." How about if you're charging 25(!) dollars for a passport photo, maybe train/certify some people to take the photo who aren't already busy running the entire store? The Vampire-grip these places have on their staff and neighbourhoods is beyond pathetic. In a word: EVIL.

Erica in Cosmetics is the best! I went here with my boyfriend about a week ago looking for a specific lip product. Although this location didn't carry the product I was looking for I was helped by Erica and she gave me very close alternatives, she was very knowledgeable with the different products they carried and made sure that what she was recommending to me was similar to what I initially came in for. I left with two of the recommendations she gave me and after a week of using it, I am definitely coming back to get more colors. Thank you Erica!

Edit: Walter has left the pharmacy. The new batch of pharmacists are clueless at best but horribly rude at worst. The change has made me move our prescriptions to the lovely, friendly and helpful pharmacists at guardian right across the street. Old review below The store itself is a standard high prices shoppers location. Nothing special. No fresh foods. Frozen, canned and snack food. Some staples like bread, milk and eggs. Best thing about shoppers is the chance to gain Optima points. The pharmacy is average. They have 1 pharmacist - Walter who is outstanding. He knows us. Recognizes us. Seems to appreciate us and will bend over backwards to make our pharmacy needs fast, efficient and enjoyable. He seems to care. I would give Walter 5 stars and the store 2 stars... averaging out to the 3 stars I have given

Went there today to get my flu shot having submitted the online form only to be told he was too busy to give us a shot. There was no one else in line. If they are advertising walk-ins and have the shots in stock they shouldn’t be turning you away.

Hi Alison - We apologize for any undue concern caused. The demand for flu shots has been unprecedented this year. Our Pharmacists are administering flu shots to patients as efficiently as possible.
