On November 28th, I visited Snowdon Guardian Compounding Pharmacy for the first time to drop off a prescription for compounding. Initially, the experience was pleasant. I was asked to complete new patient paperwork, which I promptly returned to the counter. After doing so, I was asked to take a seat again by someone else, and this is where the situation became unclear. I was unsure whether the compound was being prepared immediately, so I waited. After 30 minutes, mindful of other commitments I had that evening, I approached the counter to let the staff know I was happy to pick up the prescription another day and was not in a rush. I was told someone would be right with me. However, as three other customers came in and were assisted promptly, I remained standing without acknowledgment. Feeling uncertain, I politely said to one of the women behind the counter, “Sorry, I’m not really sure what I am waiting for right now.” Her response was unexpectedly hostile. She snapped that she was “a little busy right now,” and when I reiterated that I was not in a rush and asked if I could return another day, she curtly replied that I wasn’t waiting for my prescription but for them to obtain a formulation. At that point, I expressed my frustration, as no one had explained this to me and told her as such. I would have gladly waited had I known what to expect but spending 40 minutes in the pharmacy without clarity was not anticipated. I understand the team was busy, but I am deeply concerned about the tone and way I was addressed. I have never experienced such disdain from someone in a customer-facing role, and it left me feeling disrespected for simply seeking clarification. Unfortunately, the challenges did not end there. After a week without any update, I called on December 5th and was told the prescription would be ready either that day or by Monday. By December 10th (13 days after dropping it off) I still had not heard back. When I called again, I was informed that the formulation was clumpy, requiring a new one, and that my physician had been faxed on December 2nd without response. I was asked if I wanted the pharmacy to follow up, which I of course agreed to. On December 17th, I called once more and was told there was still no response from my doctor. Shortly after, my prescription was finally ready—19 days after my initial visit. This entire process has been extremely frustrating and far below the level of communication and professionalism I expected. I hope you will review these concerns seriously and take steps to ensure clearer communication and respectful interactions moving forward.
It always takes an average of 4 days and multiple calls to receive my prescription. I also have to deal with them about insurance for hours every time. It is never a simple, smooth experience. They never seem to receive FAXs for prescriptions ... or be able to communicate in a timely or professional way.
Have been a customer for years - friendly professional service, prompt prescription filling, convenient vaccinations, helpful with questions, etc. Great local business alternative to corporate chains.
Crystal and her team are very capable and professional. For compounded formulations (and regular prescriptions too), she and the team at Snowden Pharmacy are a great choice.
Had a great experience here recently. I came in with a prescription that needed compounding, and the pharmacist named Crystal took time to go over exactly what they’re making and how to use it. She explained things clearly and made sure I understood everything before I left. The medication was ready faster than I thought, and it’s nice to deal with someone who’s approachable. I had follow-up questions I forgot to ask in person and I still received clear guidance over the phone without feeling rushed. I really appreciated them and will be coming back. - Katherine
The pharmacist, Crystal, was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable . She ensured a medication I needed was compounded right away and provided valuable insight and advice. Very much appreciate her kindness and efficiency. Highly recommend!
Dropped off a prescription in the summer, It is now November. Nothing is happening. Called at least a dozen times and spoke with different people. So far I am still waiting...
