They lied about checking record variant over Discogs, lied again when I confronted them about sending me the wrong variant (they said they had a black and a green, but a black hadn't sold recently since mid Sept). I look today, and they had my negative review removed from Discogs. I was sent a refund, but regardless, as a shop - why would you act like that? Watch out for this place.
Great selection of new releases, re-releases, and used. Primarily punk rock / hardcore. Worth a visit for all the posters and fliers from the 80s. Impressive.
Best spot for hardcore/punk records north of the border. Emissions is a must on any trip to Toronto. They are modest size shop with a great selection of new and used, that means you can browse most of their stock but not get tunnel vision from digging through crates for 2 hours. Major points for everyone that works there being so dang nice and forgoing any judgement when you haven’t heard a band.
Do you love punk rock and Hardcore music? I'm pretty sure this is the spot you want to check out. They have a lot. Especially if you're into that rare hard to find Canadian content. They have some goodies for everyone.
Best store in the city for hardcore/punk (and genre adjacent) in the city. I come for the lottery of finding some niche death/thrash/black metal, and stay to dive into the rest of the eclectic new and used collection.
Sold my collection to Dave and he was easy to work with. Didn't feel like we were doing business. Nothing but the best things to say about him and the whole process. It was sad to see them go but I'm happy where they went. Thanks, Dave. I hope they find some good homes and the grooves get worn out.
The little record shop that could got even better since I wrote this review. They now stock Ugly Things magazine. The only place in Eastern Canada, I think, and at the best price I've ever seen! Thank you for being such a fantastic store! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The staff and the owner are super friendly and helpful. Check out the *tons* of 7" records and selection of cassettes (a rarity in itself). They have lots of punk and metal, of many different stripes, from inception to today. You'll find a smattering of other genres too. They also have scarcer, more obscure things, that you likely won't find anywhere else, at quite reasonable prices, and a few cool books and T-shirts (even some buttons!). It's really quite incredible how much they pack into that space. Highly recommended if you like your music on the louder, more abrasive side. Worth checking out even if you don't, as you never know what'll pop up here (a Fortune Records reissue and some 60s garage comps last time I was there...).
