Terrible experience at Laya Spa. I got COVID after travelling and called ahead to avoid a no-show. I understand their policies and would have come if it didn’t risk exposing others, but instead of understanding, the receptionist made me feel like my sickness was my own fault. She even told me not to come—yet insisted I’d be charged the full $200 and that “management has to speak on policies.” The receptionist seemed unsure of anything helpful and could only enforce their strict 24-hour policy. I now have to deal with this absurd charge and will be avoiding this place completely. I’ll be waiting to hear from management, but it’s clear their STRICT policies leave no wiggle room, even after a global pandemic. Their solution is to charge and credit you for when their schedule can handle it in January. Absolutely absurd, I dont know anyone who'd want to come after this first experience Save your time and money. Go to Well Bynd or any spa that actually values people’s well-being.
An amazing little oasis on queen street filled with thoughtful little touches like refreshment, mood lighting and lovely music. Lynn did a wonderful job with my RMT massage- I will most definitely be back!
Beautiful space, best RMT massage I have ever had! Lynn was thorough, generous (scalp, arms, feet, back, legs!) massage! Candles and music gorgeous, great ambiance, cookies, tea and juice thoughtfully available in ceramic cups. No rushing. Complimentary steam room after massage was lovely - remember to book! There are a lot of massage choices on the menu - I was there with my daughter in Toronto for one day so could only pick one. If I lived downtown Toronto, would go there for yoga and other services! Highly recommend.
Laura, was an incredible masseuse who has mastered her craft, to the highest degree. She would move her hands in a harmonious fashion. And she put forth so much effort from start to finish. Never a dull moment. Just pure talent. Thanks for the Incredibly relaxing experience
I’ve been going to Laya for a few years now and I am always met with kindness and courtesy each time I have an appointment. The staff are caring and kind and do so much to try and accommodate people. I have tried many of their services including massage, facials and waxing and I am never disappointed! The space is calm, very clean and relaxing and you can tell that they really put a lot of effort into making it unique and an oasis away from the Toronto grind. I just had an amazing 90 minute massage and feel like I’m floating! Thank you Laya, I can’t wait to come back :)
Wow - what a wonderful experience. Who knew this zen gem of a spot was on busy Queen West!? I had the Mini Facial and the Lymphatic Detox Wrap ... both were fabulous. The massage elements of both these treatments were wonderful. The facilities are beautiful and everything was run well and on time. Will definitely return when it's time to treat myself again.
Beautiful space!!! I just tried one of their yoga classes this week and I AM SOLD. The space is intimate and bright and open and feels oh so peaceful. I hear that they are adding Ayurvedic Yoga which sounds very interesting and I can't wait to try it. I haven't had a facial there yet but my good friend raves about it! I think I've found my go-to place. Thanks Laya Spa!
I was in over the weekend for one of the most amazing treatments - the Lymphatic Cleanse Detox treatment. It's an incredible experience and everyone must try it, especially right now during seasonal changes. If you work a lot and have a fast paced life, need some time to yourself or a way to kick start your personal wellness program, try this one! It starts with a full body dry brush experience, then you get a mud placed all over your body with natural herbs, a face mask and a head massage. After your shower this magical mixture off your body, you lie back on the table for a full hour of massage....words can't describe how you feel at the end! This treatment also comes with a freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and a complimentary steam bath!! They offer a selection of treats in the lounge area and apples. They also make fresh ginger tea and offer lemon water. Everyone must try this place, I will definitely be back!!
Loved the vibe of this place. Smells like lemongrass and sage, dim lighting and very cozy. My boyfriend and I came for an Indian Head Massage, we were 10 min late, so unfortunately they had to cut our 45 min massage to 30 min massage but we understood. They sit you down, have you fill out some medical forums, while you sip on tea and eat biscuits. The massage was incredible! They use hot oils, essential oils, they pace themselves and hit all the right spots. It was perfect! I will definitely come here again. Hopefully not late :p
I've been to Laya on numerous occasions for both facials and massages and have never had a negative experience here. From the moment you walk in the door, they have gentle music playing, and aromatherapy creating a relaxing scent. They have a comfortable waiting area with complimentary tea, juice, and snacks while you are waiting. My services have always been punctual, and all of the staff are highly skilled and ensure that whatever service you are receiving, it is enjoyable for you. I love the atmosphere in here, from the natural decor to the hardwood floors and exposed brick, it's my favourite place in the city for a relaxing spa day.
