I came here because I’m a big fan of cardamom Swedish knots, and they had a nice variety—Maple, Almond, Cinnamon, and Cardamom. I was especially excited for the cardamom one, but unfortunately, I didn’t really taste much cardamom at all. Traditionally, I expect it to be really fragrant, with seeds inside and outside, but this one lacked that flavor. Out of all of them, the Maple knot was the best, since it had a nice sweet touch. Still, overall, I wouldn’t spend my money on them again—even the Maple. They’re okay to try once, but not something I’d return for. On the positive side, the lady working there mentioned their croissants are very good, which I haven’t tried yet. Overall, it’s a decent bakery, but I wasn’t impressed, especially since I’ve had much better Swedish knots elsewhere.

I asked the source bulk foods if they knew where to get a good Oatmeal cookie and they recommended this spot. So I bought 6 oatmeal cookies just the other day. I thought they'd last a week. I'm down to two. They're thick and dense but also chewy, You're definitely getting your money's worth, and they taste really good like your grandma made them but doubled their size. Yum!

Check out @bredgyeats for food pics! It's hard for me to choose between sourdough and traditional croissants. The former offers a very subtle tang that complements the rich butteriness of the latter. The crispy, browned exterior has a richer savory aroma than usual, which I imagine would be perfect in a croissant sandwich.

Best sourdough in town! Love the Friday Challah too? I go around once a week and get a Miche, ancient grains loaf, cheese scones and sometimes a Challah. Enough for a family of 4 for 1-2 weeks.

I am completely smitten with this bakery! Being European, I searched high and low for high-quality bread, and this one gets my 100% recommendation. The staff is incredibly friendly, too!

Talk about feeling welcome, Joanne was super nice and friendly. I must warn anyone thinking of going here though, those bacon and cheese scones are dangerous…I’ve never tasted a better savoury scone in my life, unreal.

Really great spot in the neighbourhood. LOVE the sandwiches, all of the baked goods are amazing, and the prices are good. Happy to see a family run spot, too! UPDATE: 7 months later and this is still a regular spot of mine. With all of the amazing bakeries in the neighbourhood, that must say something! They introduced a new product called a Parmesan twist, pictured below with a matcha cheesecake tart (and a lemon for scale). The Parmesan twist has become my new definition of “a little treat”, you should try it

Hi Dana, thank you for the feedback. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy the Cardamom knot. I’ll check and make sure they have lots of cardamom. Again, I do appreciate the feedback. Hope to see you again.

Thanks Tara. I love that they’re “grandma cookies”! I can’t think of a better compliment for a cookie.
