Stopped here to grab a coffee and I felt like I was drawn in by all the pastries, mon dieu choices choices when everything looks so heavenly. We settled on a Danish and I have never had such a delicious one before. Looking forward to stopping by here again to try something new. People working on the Sunday were lovely and patient with us as we were overwhelmed by variety.

Mabel’s makes the worst baked goods I’ve ever tried in Toronto. Their pies taste like leather. Their cookies are rock hard - you could hammer nails with the “sugar cookies.” Their prices are outrageous, given the worse-than-grocery store quality. Mabel’s bread is fine, which is how they avoid one star.

I went into this beautiful coffee shop today that I’m working across the street from. Here I am dressed in construction gear and wanting just a coffee. To my surprise the staff greeted me with open arms and I was exposed to a croque monsieur. All I can say is that the coffee was incredible and the sandwich was by far one for the books I burned the roof of my mouth off but didn’t care because that sandwich and coffee was absolutely incredible. Worth every penny. Thank you so very much.

AVOID THIS BAKERY AT ALL COSTS I’ve never been treated with such blatant disrespect in a bakery before. One of the employees at Mabel’s Bakery was outright rude, aggressive, and even swore at me during my visit. There is absolutely no excuse for that level of unprofessional and hostile behavior toward a paying customer. It wasn’t just disappointing it was appalling. If this is how they allow their staff to treat people, I will not be returning. I will also be sharing my experience wherever I can online, with friends, and within the community. I strongly recommend others think twice before supporting a place that tolerates this kind of conduct. Management needs to take this seriously and address it immediately. In response to the owner: Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time I’ve had an issue with this same individual. I don’t know his name, but I can describe him as having light brownish hair, very short on the sides and back with very thinning on top. He appeared to be around 5’5” to 5’7” in height. That’s the best I can offer in terms of identification. Based on my repeated negative experiences, I believe this person may hold discriminatory views, it’s not the first time, last time I was there he was and again very rude to me. I don’t think someone with that attitude should NOT be working in any role let alone a customer-facing role. I sincerely hope you’re able to identify who this was and take appropriate action. I will not return. I will tell my friends and family to stay away. I’ve always appreciated your bakery, but this is way too much, it’s very unfortunate, I hope this matter is taken very seriously and very serious action is taken. Thank you for your attention. Sincerely, Mary To add more fuel to the fire my conversation above and below with the owner: THIS WILL END HERE... a friend of mine found out what his name is, it is a guy by the name of Niko, again this ends here, if I see him at any time from now on or in the future I will be adding more reviews and I will get others to do so. Your bakery has no respect whatsoever. I've never had a situation like this in my life, you are an owner that hires this kind of staff, what a disgrace you are and they are. DISCRIMINATION at a bakery? I will add this to my reviews.

This is a lovely small neighborhood cafe/bakery with caring staff, amazing bread and fresh baked goods. I also shop my eggs and yogurt from here — everyone s always welcoming.

Food is not a concern, the staff really needs to learn to talk! The guy at the counter is pretty rude to talk to and condescending! We visited the shop when it was freezing cold (feels like -21) with our dog. Wanted to grab a quick coffee for comfort. My husband was standing at the door and requested if we could be inside for a few minutes as the dog is shivering in the cold - only until we get the coffee and be on our way. I understand no pet policy. We have left our pet out at all events when visiting the bakery. Again we requested as it's too cold, can we stand next to the door with her. Besides talking well - let alone accommodating - the guy rudely points at the poster claiming we can't see / read - it's a policy. He made sure my husband left along with the dog and guided him to get outside the door. The lady at counter kept apologizing for the event. But the guy was extremely rude. There was no need for getting aggressive about the poster. A polite word would suffice. The situation could have been handled well besides pushing my husband outside the door.

I, and the regulars that come here love this place for the people and the bakery goods that come from here. The frozen pizza, cookie, and danish blueberry are so good. Tip for Mabel’s: ask for a Fiona = matcha with coconut milk and raspberry flavour The best at making a Fiona is leaving this 03/17 better go now, Sanya will be waiting The people that I like the most were Nikola, Victor, Sanya, Albert, Lily, rupal and my favourite manager Hemi. they are all a treasure in handling my order and can’t wait to go again.
