Mables has become our go to spot for whatever grocery items we can get there. We buy sausages, eggs and bread regularly. The staff is so awesome. The coffees are so good, we are there almost every day!
I was at the bakery recently with a friend, sitting in the back enjoying some empanadas, when things got really uncomfortable. One of the staff members, a woman in a dress who seemed to be in charge… started yelling at another employee. It was loud enough that we both looked at each other, unsure of what was going on. The girl at the front noticed we were clearly uncomfortable and came to the back to quietly close the door. It felt like an attempt to remove us from the yelling, which we appreciated. The whole situation shouldn’t have happened, though. The food was good, but the atmosphere was completely thrown off. Hope the staff get treated better.
Those pasties were amazing, so fresh and delicious! And that Reese's Pieces brownie? Unreal! Plus, this huge fritter-donut thing was incredible, especially warmed up. Score with that Too Good To Go grab! Thanks!
Stopped in the Saturday before the last one to get some bread, tried a delicious chocolate tart sample. I was curious about what chocolate was used in the cakes and bars, so I asked a staff member with short hair a few questions. After the conversation, I overheard her complaining to other staff quite loudly about my chocolate inquires. I am not a person who writes reviews, however I just feel very disrespected, and upset.
Great sausage rolls and great chocolate chip oatmeal cookies! Made by hand and the service was lovely, by friendly folks who clearly love what they're doing. You have to pay for premium ingredients and the time it's made with care, so be forewarned it's not cheap, but it's worth it for a treat!
They never really know how to make a good cup of coffee, bake goods are okay. So…Today, I ordered a flat white. And coffee is supposed to make your day, but this one just destroyed my whole mood! Reminds me why I should make my own coffee at home. So I asked them to make me a new one, they made me another terrible cup of coffee placed on a cup with a broken lid! Which I think was a personal attack to me by the barista. I think she wants me to drown for asking a new cup of expensive coffee Hey! Its not my fault you don't know how to do your job! Anyways, there are over 10 bakeries in the area, so guess we will never see each other again!
Today I went to pick up some fresh buns. When I went to pay, the cashier offered me a cookie free of charge as they were closing shortly. I have never tried their cookies before, but I have to say the chocolate chip oatmeal was fantastic. I will definitely be purchasing in the future! On a bad day, this really put a smile on my face!
