I bought bread and asked for a bag afterward. The staff member, an older woman with short gray hair, told me it would cost 50 cents for a bag that likely costs the store less than 2 cents. Even though I agreed to pay, she refused because I didn’t have cash and she didn’t want to charge my card—probably to avoid a small service fee. Extremely unfriendly, rude, and cheap staff. This will be my last visit to this place.
Maybe I caught this place on an off day, but the scones were sub par, and oddly hard, definitely overpriced for the product(scones typically shouldn't be crunchy). Not sure if it was due to being overcooked or just old, of which the latter would be odd for a Saturday morning, but I bought four and they were all similar so it wasn't a one off. The sourghdough White loaf was decent, moist with good elasticity and sourghdough flavor, although for the price to the size (around $8 for a small to medium-sized loaf) I expected something special and this was simply alright. Staff were friendly, and the storefront was nice. Overall I expected more from what I had heard of the place and with all the positive reviews. I would give them three stars for the bread, but the hard scones were one star at best, so a two it is.
I had visited with my mother to the Mabel's Café yesterday in the evening hours, was greeted with hospitality from Noor and Caroline, they both did a great job in attending us as customers and other customers with heart warming ❤️ matcha tea and spinach patties with my mother. I really appreciate their customer service and it was a very warm atmosphere for the customers. Overall, I felt very belonged and appreciate the services Noor and Caroline provided. I don't have pictures of the items and Bakery shop which was decorated nicely. It was elegantly decorated with Halloween decorations. The good thing about this Bakery is they use gluten-free and organic wheat. I can never count the gratitude on the customer service that I had received from Noor and Caroline at the Mabel's Bakery. This is a message to the owner that please keep running and maintain the warm atmosphere and aroma of this Bakery in the near future. You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the good work
Extremely Disappointed with Quality and Service Check reviews below and read the truth I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this bakery was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be shared. First and foremost, the food was noticeably stale — pastries that should have been light and fresh were dry, hard, and tasted like they had been sitting out for far too long. When you visit a bakery, you expect freshness to be a top priority, but that clearly wasn’t the case here. To make matters worse, the customer service was just as underwhelming. The staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly, almost as if helping customers was an inconvenience. There was no warm welcome, no smiles, and certainly no effort to make the experience enjoyable. I asked a simple question about one of the items in the display, and the response was curt and unhelpful. Overall, it felt like neither the quality of the food nor the treatment of customers is a priority at this place. With so many great bakeries around, there’s really no reason to waste time or money here. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this bakery to anyone looking for good food or decent service.
Organic as possible with fabulous coffee, fresh baked breads (yes a great sourdough and superb challah)! A flourless chocolate cake 'to die for'! Great 'cragel'! Daily requirement!
Go here all the time for bread and usually have a great experience. The last two times I’ve gone I got treats for my daughter. First time was a cupcake that was a little stale, today it was a muffin that was very stale- and the wrapper wouldn’t come off which was a bit frustrating.
I was looking for mince pies and they only had mince tarts, The taste was amazing, nice and sweet with crunchy pastry, I would git the pie a 8.2 out of 10 because for me, needs a top with a little sugar on top too "yum" . Tho I would say, they're a little bit on the expensive side as I would have gotten more than the four I got. Overall I'd say try what you like here and give an honest review but let everyone know what it is you bought. I'm definitely coming back but I might have to try harder to haggle the price.
