Unfortunately, Thobors Bakery is not as good as it used to be. It now feels like the pastries are old or possibly from the day before. We used to make a special drive just for the quality, but that level of freshness and excellence is no longer there. The chocolate croissant, also, was dry, which is a clear sign that it wasn’t fresh and definitely not made the same day. Overall, it’s disappointing compared to what this bakery used to offer.
Thobors Boulangerie Patisserie Café on Eglinton delivers outstanding quality. The pastries are fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavour. The chocolate mousse, the croissant, the cinnamon roll, and the chocolate dessert on my last visit were all exceptional — rich, balanced, and crafted with real skill. Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, and consistently great products. One of the best spots in Toronto for high-quality French pastries. Highly recommended.
I’ve been going to bakery for food and coffee for several times now. It has great atmosphere and great food. However, it would definitely benefit from more workers - it can take up to 10 minutes for your order to go through and another 10 minutes for your order to be received when there are 3+ customers coming in at once during the morning rush. The cutlery that I received for my eggs Benny was dirty as well and the second set I exchanged it for was still dirty. Overall great food but come only at a leisurely pace!
The coffee wasn’t even served hot, and the sausage roll tasted like spam. The store itself was clean and tidy, which was nice, but the owner’s approach toward staff made the whole visit awkward and uncomfortable.
Ordered the burger and an americano. Coffee was good, but the burger was still raw on the inside. I sent the burger back to be remade. They remade me a new burger, but this one the burger was cooked well, but the bun was hard and stale. I'd come back for the coffee, but I would advise to order one of their baguettes. Instead of the burger.
My mum had a decaf Americano coffee that tasted like dishwater... We shared a French Benny, & the smoked salmon was so salty it ruined everything... I write this with love- hoping the decaf coffee will get better, & someone will get smoked salmon that is not so horribly salted... It is a lovely place & we so want it to be good... Little things like my mum prefers to pay cash but cannot there, & when I am alone, a cafe with wifi means I can read... Hoping it will get better- also longer open hours would be nice... Service is ok, food takes a while to prepare, the Mimosa detox drink was excellent...
I’ve been to this place so many times last year twice every month at least I am Handicapped and in a motorized wheelchair. I was there Friday, July 4 and it was the worst service I have ever received. I asked for crêpes they said they had none. I asked for something else they could not make it because no chef was on duty. I asked for a regular sandwich just ham and cheese. It took over 40 minutes and I did not get my sandwich. I asked for a refund. Horrible service I will not go there anymore I hope this helps others make a decision
