The sourdough bread was dense and lacked the crustiness I was hoping for. It may have softened in the plastic bag, something like a paper bag might help preserve the texture. Overall, the loaf could use more air and lift; the recipe might benefit from some tweaking. The cookie was similarly a bit too thick, without much crumble or sweetness. That said, it’s possible I didn’t choose the best items on offer. The vibe and service were excellent, and I really appreciate the care that clearly goes into the space. I believe in continuous improvement and hope this feedback is helpful.
If you're looking for sufganyiot (jelly filled doughnuts) in the east-end, this is your place. I bought 20 for a get together with some friends and people were raving about how soft the dough was and how delicious it was. He can make the filling in a variety of different flavours too. Lucky to have Vlad in our hood! Super nice owner and baker.
Vlad created an incredible birthday cake for me!! He worked with me on what I required, his staff was super helpful and the apple cake got rave reviews from everyone who had it!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!
went to this place today, picked up a rum ball,a scoop of mashed potatoes,The rum ball was rotten,it was rancid, the mashed potatoes were horrible.when i reached home and discovered this debacle,I calld up the store, tried spkng to vladimir, the owner, about my displeasure,He just proudly laughed it off, saying that he is making this for 44 years, Basically he was so so filled with pride, and thinks he can never fall! he was uncouth, full of himself, high and mighty, Refused to hear my plea, his phone line is pathetic, one has to scream off their lungs!!! Please don't go here, horrible owner,Rude, over confident,Did not even Bother to Hear my dissatisfaction, he was just laughing like a 'especially abled child'.i am very dejected.Waiting to see your downfall vladimir with this "hauty- toity- i am God- attitude".
One can see the variety of offerings just from the front window display of donuts and other pastries which are sizable and ideal for those folks who don't want their baked goods too sweet.
Horrible employee treatment. Please don't endorse this man's business, he treats his employees extremely poorly. I saw him screaming at his female workers and treating them terribly. They looked scared to speak up. For a place full of sweets, this sure was a bitter experience...
The pastries here are European style, the pastry is nicely dense and not overly sweet. It's the opposite of Tim Horton's, thankfully. I've been here many times and I always receive pleasant service. For Thanksgiving, I purchased the beef pie (pics attached), which was a tasty as it looks. I also purchased a beautiful plum flan and was excited to present something unique at my host's table. As I was processing my purchase the owner delighted in telling me that the flan had some mascarpone, and that there was a layer of cranberry on the crust. That made my so much more excited. It tasted perfect and was a hit.
