Smashing IT! I have always loved Book City. There's something very intellectual about this space. It's an amazing space to lose yourself in that favorite book. They have an amazing selection of books to fulfill that reading need that whispers words on pages yet to be discovered. The staff are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Also, if you can't find what you're looking for, the staff will do a great job at making recommendations or placing an order for you. Great location as well. Awesome store, huge selection and the people that work there are a wealth of knowledge and a joy to speak with. I’m just getting back into reading fiction and with only a few queues about my tastes in movies and books he had a bunch of suggestions and not only that, he went around and pulled them all for me! Truly a great experience, I left with three books but I’m sure I will be back for more in the near future, what a wonderful place.
Every community NEEDS good bookstores. They're near-extinct, killed off by Chapters (which no longer even cares about books - it's more concerned with selling candles and knickknacks) & Amazon (intent on monopolizing retail sales everywhere). Toronto still has one remaining small chain of committed bookstores. This is a brilliant little business. A great place to browse, to find books you didn't know existed, to find a good selection of magazines from around the world. It deserves your patronage. You deserve the joy of a great classic bookstore. Enjoy.
